i was reading up on how to fit a bov over on tgtt and someone has said that you can get the blow off sound from your standard bov by disconnecting one of the pipes leadin into it and blocking it, is this true? im no mechanic but to me this sounds like one off those things that isnt good for the engine.

You wont get a blow off sound from that you will just get turbo chatter/stall :p

Sounds like you got pidgeons under the bonnet but sexual pidgeons :p

There re mixed views on doing this as people say it reduces turbo life but some people have mentioned they have run without BOV's for severla yrs etc with no problems it just depends on the condition of the turbo etc

hope this helps bud :p

Oh yea go on youtube and search for turbo stall, compressor stall, turbo chatter etc ;)

By venting the stock recirculating valve to atmosphere (this sounds like what you are referring to) you will not do any engine damage. The standard valve throws air back into the intake pipe. If you unplug this and block up the hole in the EFI pipe securely you will then vent air into the atmosphere. It will sound similar to a bus door.

Ahhh I see now...thanks for clearing that up Jay :p

And yea Pidgeons FTW!!! :p
