Hi, I read a timing belt service failed after 18 months with limited mileage, the garage said 'warranty' expired etc and as it was a 60k service interval and that it only covered 8k it was suggested poor workmanship. Perhaps I am just worried that my perception of the J in the vin code represents they got it right in Japan first time and due to corrosion of parts in the area getting it back 'right' may actually be more difficult without a rebuild/replacement of various nuts bolts and any other aspects.   2. Hi, not so new to Starlet drivership, been driving the Broadway on and off since my 17th birthday it's now mine (2015 January). This month represents 16 years of driving the Starlet. Last year I covered over 15,000 miles between Jan 15 Jan 16 so it's done well! It is finally at the age of requiring some TLC: I've given it the Autosmart treatment but now the mechanics need some TLC. 118,000+ miles still with original timing belt! As it is a non interference engine I'm just waiting for that to snap as I have heard some shocking stories about Timing belt servicing. Anyone own the Broadway or
