  1. Ok, good! I've got a fairly simple system in my Tercel and it seems to hit all the notes just fine. I tried to keep things as compact as possible so I could still use the boot, so I got a JL 8W7 sub and a JL HD900 amp. That amp cranks out 900 watts RMS, but being a digital amp it takes up a fraction of the size.
  2. If that box isn't sectioned, you'll be lucky not to blow out the cones on those smaller speakers. You've basically created a bunch of weak points in the box and all that air pressure from the subs will just be flexing them.
  3. For a while, I was seriously considering putting in a blacktop with a 6 speed but didn't want to get into cutting the frame and botching the car.
  4. I certainly wasn't complaining! I think the guy had it for years and just wanted to clear out the shed. He also gave me a shift knob, but it's pretty rough and has a 6 speed pattern on the top. Don't want to confuse the Mrs. if she drive my car lol
  5. Working on the front end still...Pics soon enough! Traded a 6 pack of beer for a Momo Champion wheel. Has some light scuffs but is in really good shape. Just have to find a hub kit and a horn button. http://s124.photobucket.com/user/81monte/media/IMG_2292.jpg.html'>
  6. I've been running the Meisters for a couple weeks now and I love them. They handle the bumps quite well while still being firm. Now that the springs have settled I'm going to try and drop them a bit more and see if I run into any clearance issues. I've found that the front brake lines are bunching up a bit and chaffing due to being lowered. I'm only running 0.5° of neg camber and the front end feels heavier and wants to understeer with the firmer suspension. I'm going to try swapping out the Whiteline front ARB for the stock and see if that if that helps. I also finished my headlight pro
  7. Looking for 2 TRD engine mounts. I have the rear one already, needing the two side ones - cam side and gearbox side. Must be in excellent condition.
  8. Is the diff crooked inside the box? The splines on the diff don't appear to be centered in that 3rd pic. Might explain why the one cup is stuck...
  9. You are correct. We have lots of Paseos here too. In Canada they are mechanically identical to the Tercel. Much of the interior is also the same.
  10. I've been debating getting a 4efte swap, or putting a small turbo on my 5efe and run low boost. I might get a bit more power with the 5e and possibly do it all for cheaper than the full 4e swap.
  11. Thanks everyone, I only wish it came with a 4efte! Rust isn't really an issue on the west coast as the winters are fairly mild. Central Canada is completely different...they salt the roads in the winter and that destroys cars.
  12. I drive the less-exciting North American version of the Starlet...the Tercel. It has the stock 5E-FE engine with a wimpy 93hp. Luckily most of the parts are interchangeable with the Starlet and it's relativly easy to swap in a 4efte. I have mainly focused on the suspension/brakes so far. Engine: stock....K&N air filter Wheels: -15" Rays TE37 Time Attack Edition -195/50/15 BFG Sport Comp 2 tires Suspension: -Vogtland cut springs/KYB GR2's (soon to be fitted with Meister-R coilovers) -KYB strut mounts -Whiteline front sway bar -Whiteline rear sway bar -Whiteline panhard bar -Whiteline
