Did you remove the radiator mate?i managed to take my manifold off without having to do that, was a bit of a pain but I got it

I think it looks fine mate, and it's not something you notice if you drive past somebody, they ain't going to say look how bad that car is the bonnet is raised an inch! If it helps cool the engine then it can only be a plus!

Best posting a photo mate for guys to see it

Ah right never knew that mate,I will be doing a td04 over the winter so when I build that I will make sure there's no sealant on it!

The proper gaskets are in mate, that goes along with the gaskets

Thought I would do a thread to keep myself right and for other people to have some input and opinions on my build,so it starts off like this.i have always had powerful cars from brand new Astra Vxr to a mk2 focus rs but the time came for me to buy a house so the fuel guzzling cars had to go,I bought myself a 60 plate audi a4 s line which is still my current car, I saved some money up and started looking at some toys I could buy and I ended up with a glanza v!!so here is the spec when I bought it
P reg 1996 toyota glanza v imported in 2008 with 54000 miles currently at 85000 now!
Ct9 hybrid turbo with external waste gate
Custom exhaust
Bc racing coil overs
Brand new rota grids and new tyres
Dastek piggy back ecu
Fuel pressure regulator
So after I picked up the car it was needing a lot of work as it had been ran into the ground basically
First thing I did was give it a good clean on the inside and removed the back seats!
Then I turned to the body work which was shocking,I then spent 3 days machine polishing the whole car to get it up to my standard, the original wings were wrecked so they are currently at the body shop getting fixed,I chucked on some aftermarket wings while it was getting done, so once I had finished that I noticed all the imperfections which I still need to get sorted
Next step was to give in a oil change, started draining the oil and realised there was hardly any left!so I had some second thoughts to how this car had been treated, while I was at it I took of my calipers and got them sand blasted and I sprayed them in VHT blue
So for the next couple of weeks I hadn't much time to do anything with the car and due to my job offshore I work 2 weeks on 3 weeks off,so I drove the car for a while and decided that something was wrong,I got in touch with mark Davidson who is mark1991 on here,he stays local to me so travelled up and we had a chat about the slow spool up time,I wasn't hitting full boost until 5k so something was wrong, and there was an annoying rattle that I couldn't identify! So we took the exhaust manifold off and had a look at the turbo, the problem was obvious and it was the waste gate penny,it hadn't been welded so was loosing boost, mark took it away with him and welded it up along with my intercooler pipe that goes to the inlet so I could fit my dump valve
So I then went back to work for 2 weeks so was at a stand still, while I was away mark had finished the welding, when I got back I order some an8 fittings for the rocker cover so I could fit a catch can and I got some anodised purple fittings,I got the rocker cover back and decided to spray it along with my front strut brace in vauxhall Arden blue!
Next step was then to put everything back together after I got heat wrap, new gaskets, new bolts and clean the intercooler as there was oil in the pipes
From this moment on everything turned into problem after problem, with bolts snapping and ruining threads in the turbo housing, first problem was stripped threads on my turbo housing,so I had to file away the housing so I could get a good seal when it was time to put my intercooler pipe back on.then I had to try and source some new equal lenth engine studs which was a night mare!!i ended up getting them from my local honda who is also a mugen specialist which is a bonus!so that process took about 2 days, then I realised the threads on the block were stripped for the exhaust manifold,so I took out the studs and got some new metric ones and re-tapped the block from imperial to metric, that problem was now fixed and the car was coming back together after a full but and bolt rebuild of the turbo and manifold, after cleaning the intercooler it was a bit of a jigsaw trying to fit it back together in the right way but everything was now back together, just had the rocker cover to put back on and locate a place for the catch can,I moved my fpr so there was room for the catch can,I got my rocker cover back on and just connecting my an8 fittings onto my rocker and I stripped the threads on my an8 fitting which was welded to my rocker!!!couldn't believe my luck,so I removed rocker cover and filled the threads,so as it stands now the car is back together and running sweet, full boost by 3k at 15 psi, before the rebuild I was boosting up to 17/18 so I think I have a boost leak somewhere but I will fix that next time I'm back from work

Yes!!!where the fuck did he get that?!?!?😝
-
Just had a quick google search.they do like nice,I think I better start saving!

Oh no what have I started......

I never realised there was so much politics involved in alloys!lol
Don't plan on crashing but to me they are spot on and I thought they were expensive! Good job it was the previous owner who bought them less than a month after I bought it from him 😂
