Need some info I've tried looking it up .but can' seem to get a spot on answer.

I have 74.5mm wiseco pistons with scat rods and head work done including Billet camshafts 8.8-9.0mm lift and 272 degrees duration

im trying to do a compression test and my results are showing 8.1 which is about 125 psi across all cylinders

Abit puzzled where I'm going wrong

any help would be highly appreciated

As previously said. Work on combustion chambers will affect C:R as well as HG thickness etc. To reduce the C:R you could use a thinner HG, skim the block or head.

I have read somewhere before (maybe corky's engine tuning book) that if uprated/different spec cams have a lot of over lash this will affect static compression due to the scavenging affect of the cams.

I'm not saying this why but could be a possibility ?

  3. you have two choice 52 and 56. the TF is a decent substitute. will spool 200rpms quicker. but the GT20(56) will give you more power. given the cost and ease of replacement..the TF is a good choice I think. TF looses efficiency after 1.2bar or so. if you get tired of TF..you can always move up the ladder to td04 or VF on the same manifold/downpipe. Gt20 has same T25 inlet flange. so its possible to go up to gt25/gt28 on gt20 manifold (lots of power potential),but you will need a new downpipe.

    hope this info helps.

    Thanks for the info!

That's is the valid point i am getting at. With a t4 flange I can go from gt20-25-28 at a later date.

I have had a Glanza with a td04 with a WEPR top mounted ex gate and tbh from what I remember the lag was a lot less than 3500rpm.

I just wanted to try a gt20 setup and probably move up to a GT2864 at a later date.

It's a shame Borge warner don't do an EFR small enough for our engines :)

  4. GT25 is the next step depending on budget. Hybrid GT25 would touch 300 with good response I recon.

There's seems to be a few GT20's in about in different trims but it's just finding someone that knows turbos well enough what would be best suited to our engines. A/r sizing etc.

Thanks for the info guys I will look at the posts/links and try make a decision.

    Just fancied something different aswell.

  5. I have had a TD04 on my Glanza before. I have a few kicking around as I have two Scoobys.

The Glanza is going to be my track car (to save STI from getting smahshed up lol) so I am looking for a fast responcive turbo.

I will be building a forge engine in due course as I have just finished forge builds on the scoobys the pockets took a hit but I will be doing the Glanza within a few months. Just forked out on AD08Rs whiteline roll bars bcs and polybushes.

And from what I'm reading about this GT20 it would be ideal. BUT what spec Gt20's do you guys use ? It seems like it's a diesel turbo what what I'm gathering ?

I found a gt2052 but doesn't look like the one guys are running on here ?

  6. So the story goes I brought my old Glanza back the guy said it had a knocking bottom end.

So I stripped it down and it was a head gasket failure the bottom end is fine and measure up good.

Ordered Pistons ring and the gaps were BAD looked at the piston and it has 0.50 stamped in it so I presume they are +.50 Pistons ???

    Do Toyota do + .50 Pistons ?

I am also struggling to get Pistons rings can't find any oversized ?

  7. Hi guys,

I have fitted a "ep 95 trd" rear mount on my Glanza as the OEM one was shot and I seem to have a horrific judder now it literly chatters your teeth.(May be the clutch athough it's done 500 miles)

The issue was bearable until I put these JD tunning left hand and right hand and now it's even worse !

I went to fit the poly bush to the rear mount and the bush is way to small. So apparently it's a OEM lsd mount ?

Would a 4efe rear mount fit ? And could it be causing this problem ?

    Any opinions appreciated !!

    Cheers
