thanks for the kind words chaps. Really really happy with how it came out espically with the money spent. I do see your point on the wheels and if money was no object I would have changed them but like the fact they are some random jap only make and look much better in the flesh especially with the white decals
As above lovely colour, notice your from the New Forest, visited last year and wished I had taken my Gt, some amazing roads/scenery. must be good fun?

yeah there are some wonderful twisties which the glanza is made for ;)

yeah I'm well happy with it, got a lovely metalic "pop" in the sun, and does look like it could have been oem of the era. I love bright colours on cars but this just wanted simple and tidy. Looks even better with decals too :)

as mentioned in my welcome to the club I am in the process of restoring my Mrs jdm glanza. Done a few bits, nothing groundbreaking but just trying to make it tidy reliable car for wife and family run around!
car came from jap land with the alloys, trd suspension and a rusted exhaust, now it has blitz nur spec (with bung) hks air filter and adjustable actuator
in past few weeks its had wishbones, ball joints, cam belt, water pump and opened up wastegate. have still got cv boots and rad to sort as I bought one for a manual and ours is an auto. also fitted late spec bumper, grill, front seats and door cards.
here she is before....
here she is with her fresh paint and powder coated wheels. sorry haven't got any yet with white decals I fitted last weekend (well actually she fitted ;) )
ll post more pics later if wanted?

true, I probably will end up gettin a universal oil cooler but kinda wished for an alloy rad inc atf cooler as more oem and external oil coolers can cool the oil below its operating temp causeing premature wear. Mite be just me being over cautious

Ae111 4age 20valve mate.. Also bought as a shell, 00 1 owner from import:)
black top? The age truely is one of the most versatile engines ever
back on topic tho, I never realised all the "options" these cars came with. You don't get that any more
-
bought a full sized alloy rad off member on here but as its from a manual car there is no provision for atf cooler. Any options people?
cheers for looking

cheers chaps, best thing about the roof is I never had to touch it! The Mrs and her brother did it does look cool! Yeah the back windows have genuine "starlet" mirrored film on them from jap land, was on rear window too but was all mankey so removed it but side windows were ok so I left it.
forgot to mention I did grooved disks and ebc pads all round too!
hopefully ill keep tho thread alive with what follows or should I start a new one not in new owners?

hello everyone, although I have only recently signed up and started posting (mainly in parts wanted / for sale) we have owned our little glanza v for over two years now! I say we but the car is my wifes and she loves it!
reason I have just joined and started this thread is that we decided about a month ago that our glanza really needs a lot of attention to get it back to the standard we would want (she is a little tatty) and decided the best option was to sell her, use the money plus a little extra and buy a replacement......
so we bought a 200sx (s14a) 1 week later and thankfully the glanza hasn't sold and the 200 has!!!! with the decision there is no replacing our lil glanza as its just too good at what it does!!
so the restoration project has begun. in process of getting quotes on full respray (in gun metal / grey) and getting prices on parts required to restore her to her former glory!
currently the car has hks mushroom filter, blitz exhaust, trd shocks and springs (from when originally imported from japan) boost and oil pressure gauges, hks actuator, sticker bombing and custom headlining
the plan is to port the wastegate (yes she over boosts no matter how low you set actuator) and replace rad with alloy one, replace cam belt, tensioner, idlers and water pump. replace wishbones and ball joints, all cv boots and driveshaft seals, refurb wheels professionally (as I did it last time with rattle cans hahaha) replace indicators with clear ones, replace ducktail and front bumper (with late spec item) replace seats with the much nicer late spec ones (if I can actually source some) if not I may just fit the seats from my old supercharged 'rolla ;)
any input would be greatly appreciated as even though I am a main dealer mechanic (sorry) by trade I openly admit I don't know it all and bow down to the knowledge of others on the ukso
here are some pics if anyone is interested (and if this imageshack thing works hahaha)...
any way thanks for looking and sorry if I should have posted elsewhere

1996 Glanza V, 2 lady owners, late spec bumpers and seats, natural grey
in Cars For Sale
Posted
Year: 1996
Model: Glanza V
Tax: N/A
MOT: 01/11/2017
Mileage: 90000miles
Description:
I have for sale my wifes beautiful JDM Glanza V with the legendary 1.3T engine
We bought our Glanza in May 2013, when we bought the car it was mechanically sound and no rust but needed someone to love and bring the car back to its best. As a main dealer mechanic for over 15 years this was the ideal little project to make my wife the car of her dreams!
Before you ask, yes the car is an AUTOMATIC. Personally this actually attracted me to the car as I think it suits the go kart feel of the car and also less likely to be raced around by a boy racer! The auto box is electronically controlled and so very smooth and drives beautifully!
I know alot of people say "this car has never wanted for anything" but our car really has. I know this isnt a low mileage car, but it isnt high either but has been maintained to the highest level and used (almost) daily. Below I will try and list everything that has been done to it!
We chose the colour, late spec bumpers and interior as we wanted the car to look like it could have left the factory like it. I have also replaced the speedo dial face to read MPH but left the speedo drive and odometer alone so that it still reads KM as I thought it would be confusing to have the vehicle history half in kilometres and half in miles!Current mileage is 144,891 km (90,000 miles)
Unfortunately the car isnt quite perfect and although most wouldn't notice I want to point out everything. The paint split on the ducktail (spoiler) I think from where I used the spoiler as a handle to open and close the boot! I have a replacement spoiler which I will include with the car that just needs painting and fitting. Also there are some small stone chips on the front of the LH side skirt. I have included pictures which I hope show how small the defects are!!
Please note all the stickers shown will be removed this weekend and our wookie is not included in the sale
