  1. Er...no I did a search on here and it said the standard speakers in an N/A were 10cm units so I just did a search and went for the ones that sounded best, I know JBL are a decent make and I was sure someone had mentioned GTOs somewhere on here. Just been reading about impedence on the web, looks like I might end up with very quiet speakers as the amp in the head unit will have to work twice as hard to provide the same power through a 2ohm impedence compared to 4ohm
  2. I've just had a look at the manual for my head unit and it says speaker impedence 4-8Ω These speakers are 2Ω Have I fcuked up?
  3. Just ordered these from fleabay, any good? Will I hear a decent improvement over standard? The current head unit is a Sony and the facia says 35W x 4 on it. I chose these JBL's because the RMS power says 35W in the advert. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...N:IT&ih=006 £24 delivered seemed reasonable Chris
  4. What if you swap around the contacts to the wiper motor to reverse the current flow? The first signal it receives will then wipe upwards across the window?
  5. Here are the pin swaps necessary for the Paseo clocks in a Starlet Sportif. I traced the circuitboard from each pin to the relevant bulb or gauge and I have wired them up as follows. Everything is working perfectly apart from the tacho (as I'm sure you have gathered). I hope this is helpful for anyone that also wants to do this. I will update this with the correct wire for the tacho as soon as I've had a look at Idrees SR clocks on Sunday Pin-Purpose-Wire Colour (->|- = Diode) 1. IG + Temp and Fuel - Red/Blue 2. ->|- Pin 3 (Handbrake) / ->|- Battery - Yellow/Black 3. Battery - Bl
  6. Cheers Idrees When are you available for me to pop round mate, I can do anytime. Paseo Clocks Pin 10 on 13 pin connector goes to tacho labelled 'P' Expanded view of tacho side
  7. No mate, the circuit board on the paseo clocks is completely different. Couldn't try out the black wire in the dark last night, will pull out the clocks tonight and see if that black wire is for the tacho, it's the only one I have left. The file you sent me shows that the black wire goes to nothing when it's in the sportif and also nothing in the SR? It can only be that one if you say all the wires are there?
  8. I've done a colour-coded swap guide that details all the pin swaps from sportif to paseo, I'll jpeg it and attach it as a picture on here as soon as I have the tacho sorted, don't believe in doing half a job mate
  9. No probs on the thread steal mate, cheers for the advice.
  10. Sorry to keep re-asking the same question but really hoping there's a wire in the loom behind the clocks for the tacho sender. If anyone out there has an SR (they have a rev counter right?) that is local to Manchester and will let me have a look at theirs (I've had my clocks in and out so many times now, I'm a pro at it ) I'd be forever in your debt. I could have your clocks out and back in mega quick. I know it's a lot to ask but I'm sick of staring at beautiful white Paseo dials with a motionless rev needle Once it's all sorted I'm gonna do a really detailed how to for anyone else that
  11. I got some off a Toyota Paseo, (white dials and tacho) will be putting a how to on here soon, got them for £35 delivered from a breakers, I think he had another set too. Few wire swaps needed but pretty simple now I have it all written down. PM me with your email address if you want the details and I'll send em over before I do the how to. Chris
  12. Yeah, thanks for the tip mate, will definitely do a how to, the clocks look 'kin excellent Just a shame I'm still looking at a stationary rev counter ;) You don't know if there's anywhere in the loom behind the clocks I can tap into to save going into the engine bay do you? Gonna do a couple of other little tweaks to the car and then leave it. Read a few threads on here about a corolla manifold that sounds good and probably a k&n filter. I have a few motorbikes so I know how much difference a few nice little mods can make.
  13. Update: 27/11/07 All problems now resolved, Paseo clocks now in and working. Check out the detailed How 2 with pictures here I have done this conversion and (nearly) everything is working perfectly. The only thing I don't know is which wire I need to tap into to get the tacho working (the main reason I bought the clocks). Has anyone done this or has a wiring diagram that can tell me where I need to look. Thanks Chris
