Picked up a glanza auto and its making a loud whining noise sounds like the turbo spooling up but its not. Showed a friend today and he said it will be the torque converter. Just wondering if this is something anyone has experienced?

Check the wiring harness that goes across the front cross member for damaged wires
Thats something I've not looked at, il check that wiring harness out.

Having a bit of trouble with my headlights, only 1 side light works, I've changed all bulbs and fuses and everything seems okay. Anything else to lookout for?

looking for a set of rear brake calipers for my ep82...

Get the plastics off down the side of the car for an inspection before you spend too long on the mechanics of the thing.

This was the pics the chap I purchased it from sent me, engine bay is extremely rusty, and wishbones look like they are made of rice Krispies.

EP91 wishbones will not fit using your EP82 rear mounting bracket as the rear bushes are smaller on the EP91 wishbones. The front bushes are also smaller but these do not affect fitment.
If you want to use EP91 wishbones you have two options:
1. Source EP91 rear mounting brackets
2. Fit an Anti-lift kit (supplied with new bushes and brackets)
Idrees thanks for taking the time to reply, that was the next thing I was going to ask, so if I was to order the new wishbones from you along with a whiteline anti lift kit that would fit my ep82 no problems?
-
No. Either will work.
-
No? I think he means P8 P9 I.E. EP80 81 82 fall under P8 and EP91 95 under P9. I.e. WIshbones from across the board are interchangeable.
-
P8 and p9 are interchangeable wishbone's
-
i was going to order a set of wishbones from id workz earlier and i thought i would just call to make sure they would fit my 94 ep82, they said they only have the glanza wishbones which dont fit an ep82. Everything i have read on the internet says that the wishbones are the same for late ep82's and glanzas...is this correct?

think you need et20 for 8j
-
as above im looking for some new wheels and I've come across some nice ones but they are 15x8j and et30, will these work with my ep82 without messing around?
-
Just new fluid, bleed it right through get rid of the old stuff if there is any. check the Master Cylinder hasn't been leaking brake fluid down the fire wall.

Picked up an ep82 that's been stood since 2010 in a barn, I've done a compression test and it's 165psi across all four cylinders. Going to start on getting the car running this weekend. I'm changing the oil, oil filter, spark plugs, and all belts but is there anything else which I should change? Engine bay does seem a little rusty in places but il tidy it all up once I've got it up and running.
Brakes are pretty much none existent, the pedal just goes to the floor. But I'm changing all four discs and rear bearings with new pads and Hel 6 peice lines once the car is running, is there anything else that would need replacing on the braking system?
Any help much appreciated

need to replace the fuel filter along with a few other bits on my gt turbo, just wondering if the fuel filter is the same between the turbo and non turbo starlets?

looking for all the above parts for my ep82, closer to east midlands the better as i always prefer cash on collection when buying parts.

That's not really the kind of thing I'm after, I would rather buy a car with a knackered engine that I can just put my engine straight into. But cheers anyway
Auto box max power? Ugrades available?

id be interested to see how this works out, picked up a glanza auto last week to use as a daily and i find it awfully slow compared to manual GT's I've owned previously, im weighing up the options of tuning vs manual conversion.
