  1. That would have been perfect but your 100 miles away from me thanks anyway!
  2. The seats in my wife's 1.3 Sportif are awful! They have fag burns and holes in as well as being stained. Does anyone have the front and rear seats to fit? Wouldn't mind some sportier ones if anyone's got any. Don't want to spend silly money as it's just a run around. Cheers!
  3. No. I have tried switching everything off to see if made a difference and it doesn't. I'm normally driving to work in the dark and home in the dark so always have lights, heaters, radio on. Are you thinking it might be the alternator on the way out if it did effect it?
  4. Cheers guys. Think I will try and get the alternator belt off again and run the car without it quickly to see if the noise goes. I'm hoping it just needs tightening up again. Need a half decent day to do it in, cant stand working on the car in the cold/ wet
  5. Morning all. I've had constant trouble with our 1.3 Sportif squealing. First off, I knew it was the belts as the squealing stopped once the alternator belt had snapped! Replaced that and the squealing went. Shortly after it came back but that was because we hadn't tightened it quite enough. That sorted it but then it started again so assumed it was PAS belt so replaced that the other day. Sorted it short term but now its back! Last night I took the PAS belt of and ran it quickly and it was still squeaking so confirmed to me it is alternator belt related. The noise inst like your usual scr
  6. No cant hear any noise when driving. It seems to be better if you give a bit more revs on take off and then the judder seems to go away. Only does it when pulling away in 1st gear I'll try have a look next time I'm off
  7. We have had our 1.3 Starlet for a few months now and one thing I've noticed is an annoying judder when pulling away. It seems to be worse when the car is cold. Anyone have any ideas what it might be or any thing I can check? Any help appreciated
  8. Nice one, might have a look at that after work tonight!
  9. I will have a look, thank you! Hopefully that will sort it Whilst we are at it, how do I get to the front speakers in the lower dash? The drivers one comes on and off when it feels like it, hoping its just a loose wire
  10. Just replaced the Sony tape player with a JVC CD player and all works fine. Only issue is that it wont save stations and loses all other presets like bass/ treble etc. Anyone know why that might be? I bought the autoleads wiring harness to connect the starlet to the JVC and its all plug and play. Any help appreciated. Car is a 1997 Sportif
  11. Thanks! hoping to pick up some advice/help from you chaps
  12. Cheers mate. It's done about 77,000 miles so fairly low for a 17 year old car!! Apparently it was just used to go back and forth to the local co op, now it's doing 34 miles a day into London seems to be holding up ok
  13. Just picked up this cheap little runaround for me, my wife and our three dogs to travel to work in (35 mile round trip). It's only the 1.3 but it's great fun to bomb around in! It was an old mans car who passed away and the car was sat in a garage for three years! Obviously it needed a good clean up which I enjoyed (love a good cleaning session!). The starlet is really my wife's car, my car is a 2003 BMW E46 touring which is now taking a long deserved rest Anyway, some photos: The beast Parked up in front of the BM Parked next to my friends Impreza Picked up some cheap alloys to replac
