Just another one of the connector, which I am very happy for!

Another thing i made. I'm not gonna use a normal instrument. So i made som space for an Android tablet, it's made in the original cluster so it still looks original.

my AFR gauge and some diodes for fuel and oil pressure is also placed there. I got a Bluetooth module for the ECU, so it sends data to the tablet via an App.

As said befor, i'm creating a "quick change" engine, that also affects the wiring. I bought an RS quick connector for the firewall, to be able to quickly disconnect the entire loom from the engine.

Over a year since last update! I stopped uploading cause the program for uploading pictures decided to stop working. It still doesn’t work, trying to sort it out.

Since last time a lot have happened, also my normal life besides my car. I got 2 kids now, so not much time to spend on the starlet.

I’m almost finished with wiring, it has taken a lot of time and many sleepless nights to figure out how to do it right.

The car is more or less finished outside, I’m still looking for a turbo honeycomb grille and a top spoiler. Wheels fit perfectly, small bits and pieces are fitted.

To do list to crank it for the first time:

-Sort out battery mount

-Make boostpipes (Stainless with visible weldings, clearcoated)

-Exhaust from downpipe, also stainless.

-Last bits of wiring, and connect it to original loom.

I hope to get it finished and running next year. Let’s see how things end up.

Long time since something remarkable happened. I sorted a lot of small bits and problems, renewing front brakes, made some wiring inside the car etc.

I made a new front lock plate, so my WEPR manifold with external wastegate fits the engine together with my alloy rad. Not much space in there, but it'll fit.

Plate is cut so rad is fitted as a part of the lockplate, it moves the rad about 5 cm more towards the front, and suddenly everything is possible.

Not much space, but it's enough. With the original lockplate, the rad covered half of the wastegate outlet

Everything's fitted, locking mechanism fitted the right place and adjusted. Just needs a clean, grinding, polishing and a bit of love, so it looks as new as the rest of the car

Fitted the WEPR manifold, unfortunately an ep70 enginebay is way smaller than ep91, so mods to the lockplate needs to be done. Thinking about creating a new one in alloy.

Love that front. Looks mean with the carbon headlight.

Wiring is next, all brand new

Collected a c52 gearbox from a 3e earlier this week, very cheap. Then i just need a blacktop or agze diff and a rebuild, then it's ready for boost.

Aaand engine is in!! Have been looking forward to this for so long, and finally it happened. Gonna make something with the rear gearbox mount though, so engine sits straight. Fabricating a front mount too, so it doesn't tilt when boosting.

Rocker cover needs finish, colour will be wv2 sparkling silver as the engine bay.

Yeah, it's a bit high offset, but i'm upgrading my brakes to celica brakes in the front, and needs spacers so the discs is centered correctly. So i'm loosing 7mm, plus an extra mm cause the thickness of the brakes. So think it's gonna fit alright 😊

Long time since something happened. Last time it went a little bad with everything planned, so decided to take a break from the car, to get on track again and get some motivation. Today the engine got so finished that it's ready to come in the car. And i assembled manifold-turbo with wastegate, screamer and downpipe. Think it looks great.

Also found out that my new wide wheels don't fit the damn car. So I sold them again to a friend to get some new ones.

Decided to go another way and chose Japan Racing Jr3 in other dimensions than first set. New dimensions will be 7x15 et40 front and 8x15 et25 rear. Colour will be bronze with green lug nuts

Tried the wheels on this weekend! Looks awesome with the JDM green lugnuts, just need some tires and more low

My clutchkit arrived, 212mm competition clutch stage4 from a corolla. Fits my CC flywheel very nice

About brakes for a starlet: everything original is apparently not being fabricated anymore, so all of my plans about brakes has to be changed, but then an upgrade is possible. Here is standard ep70 front calipers vs celica at160 gt calipers. Directly bolt on the original hubs, just needs a 7mm spacer behind the disc to olace it in the middle of the saddle. New setup: 243mm vented front discs 😊

Got a few parts ordered and delivered so the engine can be mounted.

Tial mv-s 38 mm wastegate, should be enough for my hp goal for now.

Competition clutch stage 4. Actually I had bought a new sachs standard clutch and got the pressure plate stiffened and ordered a zinter metal clutch plate, but it was out of stock so changed the plans. Should control about 400 hp, but we'll see.

Actually don't know which tyre i'm gonna use yet, fronts are gonna be 195/50-15, but don't know if the rears should be 205 or 215's. I'll find out when I see how the rims fits the car 😊

Yea I'm slowly gettin there, but when the car is 150 km away from where I live, it takes a bit longer than usual projects 😊

by the way that td05 manifold is absolute mental, one of my best purchases ever!

The splitter is from an original ep71, just got it refurbished as everything else.. I actually bought the splitter in 2010 for my previous starlet, but sold the car to a kid and the splitter to a friend. And here 6 years after he still had it and bought it back for the same money 😉 Nice to get things storaged.

I like my brand new WEPR td04 manifold. Gonne be mounted with my td05 turbo and an TiAL mv-s38 external wastegate

Gearbox is refurbished, although this isn't the box i'm gonna use for ever, I just gave it a quick clean and paint so it looks nice like the rest of the engine.

And a wash of the car, in about 14 days the engine's getting in, new rims and upgraded brakes being mounted, can't wait!

Is the ep91 brakes a direct fit on the standard ep70 hubs?

And what size discs are you running?

What way did you mount the intercooler? Have the same one for my own ep70

Drilled two holes in the front bottom beam and had a friend to make two bushing to fit in the holes. So it's a custom solution, can take a pic of it next time i work on the car.

A bit more happened today. Got some more stuff cleaned, painted and mounted on the engine, it's slowly getting there.

Matchporting of the intake manifold to fit the head perfectly and for optimal flow.

Clean and as new. It's a huge job to clean and paint every single bit of the engine, but it looks nice when it's mounted

Fuelrail mounted with 560cc injectors, and ready for an6 adapter in the end, so it can be connected to my aeromotive fpr

Intercooler painted black for a stealth look, I don't like attention, so no shiny stuff

Finally found the manifold i'm gonna use. I chose the Wepr GTFS td04 mildsteel manifold with wastegate exit, screamer pipe and stainless downpipe. It will suit my engine very good.

Need an ep82 gt gearbox (c52) in good shape or for a good price.

Needs shipped to Denmark, Alternatively located somewhere around rugby, coventry or leamington spa.
