We have now returned from our trip and managed the rally and a few extra days without any problems with the little Starlet behaving brilliantly despite the heat and some long climbs up the passes! We covered a total of about 2600 miles and raised over £750 for a local cat rescue. The rally started in Belgium, then went on to Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary. We visited some amazing places and drove the Grimsel, Furka, Tremola, Gotthard, San Bernadino, Fluela, Ofenpass, Umbrail, Stelvio and Grossglockner. Here are just a few photos, the car is now without stickers a

Both the points for the lap part of belts are just clipped to eyes that are bolted into the standard mounting points on the passenger side but on the drivers side there isn't any access due to the subframe so the harness clip is clipped into a hole drilled in the subframe itself. Would be able to use the standard mounting points with a different subframe but it has a custom frame welded to the standard one to retain the seat adjustment.
-
The harnesses are mounted round a strut brace that is welded between the inner wheel arches near the strut tops. It isn't that quick as it's nearly standard but it's light and is good in the corners!

Was good to talk and have a look at your car, will probably see you again somewhere!
-
Thanks! Had a look through your build, looks great will look forward to following progress on turbo conversion!
-
Haha, after we leave Germany it's Switzerland and I don't think they're too keen! Should be alright once we get to Italy though! Thanks, really looking forward to it!
-
Thanks! Had a look at yours, looks really clean. Good to see more N/As on track!
-
Thanks, it starts there then we go straight to Germany so should be ok!

We are taking part in a Charity Car Rally during August 2016. The rally starts in Brussels on 20th August and covers 7 countries in 8 days before finishing in Budapest on 27th August, covering more than 1500 miles, including mountain passes and even the Nurburgring. We are taking part in the Rally in a 1997 Toyota Starlet. We have chosen to raise money for a charity local to us, Cuddles Cat Rescue. They are entirely run by volunteers with no expenses paid. Last year their expenditure was over £30,000 with more than £20,000 being Vet bills. It is a charity meaningful to us as our cat O

Would love an OBX manifold but think I've only ever seen two for sale used! Looks really good on the new wheels!
-
Thanks for the offer, will pm you when going to start collecting parts. Probably be a winter project.
-
Thanks! Would like some semi slicks on some new wheels, got a list of things I want for it! Yours looks like it's fun on track!
-
You got to have it on the car when you've spent that much on it and it looks that good! Thanks, will see if I can sort a camera out and get some videos up.
-
Thanks! it is ex TSS, did plan to do a few events but my shifts have clashed with them for the last few years and think I would prefer the freedom of trackdays. Had a look at yours, it's really cool! Love the genuine TTE lip, would like one but couldn't justify the price for the track even if I could find one!
-
Was thinking of something like that, will have to search on here and make a list of parts required!
-
Will work out my money and maybe book it if I can, got alot planned already this year! If not might just come along as a spectator.
-
I had 195/50/15 and it scraped so got some 185/45/15 but not sure about the look of them I think I should have stuck with 195s! Will be interesting to have a look round yours at some point, is the trackday you're booked on in July through Trackdays as I saw that date on their website?
-
That's great, looks quick! It's good when some of the cars you're quicker than round the tighter parts let you through on the straights, I've had a few holding me up then flying off on the straights only to catch them up and do it all again! Had a look at your SR, looks really clean. I love a nice SR, makes me want one and also to lower mine a bit more but get a bit of rubbing any lower.
-
It is fun and road legal but usually just drive it to and from the track, got another starlet for everyday as too old for the uncomfortable ride! Don't see many starlets round here, get really excited when I do!
-
Thanks, I'm busy on the August date but will see if I can come along to Blyton and say hello and will let you know of any others I book, probably be later in the year.

Hi, I have decided to start a build thread for my track car. I have had the car for over 3 years now and have done various track days at Cadwell Park and have Donington booked later in the year. It isn't the quickest on the straights but it likes the corners and is the cheapest fun at most of the days I have done! Despite the straight line speed I have done RWYB at York Raceway for fun and plan on doing some runs at Santa Pod on the weekend of Japshow this year. The current spec of the car is Engine- Corolla inlet manifold Blitz panel filter Mongoose S/S exhaust Chassis- BC C
