  1. Hi guys. I bought the speedvision camshaft some years before but lost the sheet chart he gave me. Does someone have the chart and can send me a copy please. Ive installed the cams but i noticed my compression is a bit low 130 on all cylinders is there anyway to rectify this? We tuned the car it feels very laggy down bottom on a gtx2867r gen 2 and it spools a little slow which shouldnt be

    Thanx

  2. I recently built a forged 4efte on speedvision cams but no matter what I do it runs rich. I changed the injectors back to the stock ones checked the map sensor stock ecu and even my greddy ultimate and it still reads rich. Any idea on what's causing the problem?

  3. Not so bad for a 4e, i have seen the same at around 4500rpm or 5k rpm

I have experimented a lot of garrett turbo ,why not going a litle bit of high compression to enhance boost at low rev ??

There is another starlet in my island with 4efe standard compression (not 4efte) with GTX2863 and this starlet

kiks all of the big scooby with bigger turbo and it beats another 4EFTE with TD05 in a corola all the way ...

I am not a fan for only the big top end ,i prefer responsiveness and drivebility ...when your car respond quickly you can beat some bigger cars easily

I'm going to up the boost a bit only at 11psi investing in a meth kit and a stage 3 clutch it should feel heaps better after that

  4. Hi

i was absent for a long time due to the fact that i was with my solar system for my house...

very curious to know when the boost comme in ...i am not a fan for a 4e with these big turbo , 5e in another world.

    A GTX2863 is better , GT2530 is old and 2871 a litle bigger for me ...

Gt2871 comes in around say 4000rpm it's not bad at ton of top end power
  5. Hey its pretty Strong up top but I've encountered problem, just got it tuned and was testing and the Intercoolerpiping blew off after we put it back on went testing it again and it wont rev past 4000 roughly when boost cuts in any ideas what it could be?

  6. hail sir, i have a few questions and i sincerely would like to see you spend your money and get reliable/decent results

is this a stock 4e or 5e engine?

are you planning to forge anytime soon?

how much boost do you plan to run on this stock engine?

how long have you been on the starlet scene in Barbados?---do you have anyone to advise you locally? maybe part of the starlet club or know any older ep82/91 owners (many own evos, stis, etc now lol)?

will you be running race gas or water/meth kit on the stock engine?

my opinion, that turbo is too big for a stock set up, you will most likely be below that turbo's efficiency range ---have you heard of a 300whp white ep91 from way back when?---they used a similar turbo on that forged bottom half at 2 bar.....it will be better suited to a forged set up and higher boost

again, i hope you dont take the above in the wrong way, but as a genuine concern, bajan to bajan

    It's a stock 4e

Yes the engine should be forged soon

    Pump gas

    Water meth kit coming soon

I was advised by a few people it would be a good set up for drags

And your opinion is appreciated what turbo would you recommend?

  7. that's what i'm trying to suggest to him as well...as i'm from Barbados as well and have been around these starlets since 1999/2000

hot daily temps around 30C+, relatively low octane pump gas, plus his engine does not have all the supporting mods as yet and still a lot to learn about the 4e/5e engine...we have a lot of guys here that have experience with these engines (many sold on now and moved to 4wd evos/stis),,,but i've seen some sad stories over the years and some decent builds as well....when short cuts are taken it normally does not end well (hole in block, cracked pistons, etc)

i repeat, do it properly one time or leave it stockish/standard for now until you gather all the parts to convert it properly ---works out cheaper in the long run

i'd not be doing any boost increase with a stock manifold, stock TMIC and/or stock d/pipe/exhaust system in our hot climate for sure

What would you recommend for supporting mods?

  8. leave it as it is then...when you go td04 or whatever set up, then you can do everything one time----manifold, turbo, d/pipe, 2.5 - 3 inch exhaust, fmic, management, tuning, boost controller, etc....you will also need to look at brakes, suspension, tires and possibly rear braces and rarb...etc

its a long process, but best to do it right the first time or you could end up wasting a lot of money fixing problems

Yeah it's supposed to get the tdo4 on from Friday so hopefully it's a lot better

  9. at 10 psi...i'd leave it as it is and just do everything when you get your new set up----better usage of your money that way

if you could find a cheap adjustable actuator (or a direct fit hks actuator) that would hold boost more stable than the stock ct9 actuator, then maybe you could use that and run 10psi, which is close enough to stock boost

presently, what mods do you actually have on the car?

10psi and an aftermarket blow off valve that's about it

  10. take a read of the link provided for supporting mods, etc

just a few questions for you:

do you have those other supporting mods?

what type of management are you using or planning to use?---fueling only adjustment or ignition and fuel adjustment?

will you be raising boost?...if so how and by how much?

Probably greddy and running about 10psi

Was wondering if that was actually true or?

  11. lots of people do,,,its been proven time and time again

if you can find a tf035,,,you may be able to have the best of both worlds----from all reports its between a ct9 (response wise) and td04 (power wise)

and shares the same flanges as the subaru TD04L....i'm more informed on subaru turbos

the mitsubbishi tdo4 i'm not too clued about though

Heard those are a bit hard to find here would have to order one in
