  1. Also got an issue of 1st gear 'grabbing' (wont come out of 1st) and 2nd sometimes hard to engage. Thinking potential clutch drag as I'm getting a grind in reverse occasionally. I've changed the clutch slave due to leaking, master seems dry but I've not pulled back the dust boot. sugercube seems OK, and I've fitted solid gearchange bushes (ID Workz bearing type). i did have a Hypersports quickshift fitted, removed it and changed was improved.

  2. Not sure if I should suffer from it or not? Diff feels great on roundabouts etc, can really feel it working, but trying to put down 235bhp is bit of a task in 2nd and 3rd. Wheel can pull about it I’m not holding on!

I thought it was just a side effect of having that power, but it seems Facebook disagrees. If I shouldn’t, can TRD still supply diff plates, or should I be looking at Kazz/Quaife?

The biggest issue we have is the shallow height of the disc bell. Astra 280mm discs fit with a spigot ring so would be a good option. so Assuming the calipers are a 2 piece caliper and mount you will be able to have a new mount made to fit starlet hubs with them calipers and a disc of your choice.

I can get spigot rings in the correct size, 60.1mm for the Clio. The 172 calipers are 2 piece, the Brembo are a single piece 4 pot. Once I’ve measured up and they look like they’ll fit, I’ll speak to the maker of the Clio adapters.

  4. I only ask as I come from the Renault scene prior to me getting a Glanza. Many people fit the Brembo calipers from the Clio 197/200 onto the 172/182, and can be fitted behind 15" wheels. I happen to have both a set of calipers, and a set of the wheels in the photo. I'm taking my wheels off this weekend, so I'll have an offer up, and see how things look. These calipers can be had for as little as £100 a pair, so might be a nice alternative to other options.

  5. Finally got JTs Glanza at the weekend. My god its good to drive! Only issue I have is 2nd, and occasionally 1st can be tight to select. All other gears are ok. I can drive around it, but my wife isnt finding it so easy.

Ive read about a bush on the selector linkage at the gearbox end - anyone have a picture of this? Can the linkages be adjusted side to side? Cheers.

  6. As above - collecting car tomorrow and it has no rear wiper, something I hate not having! Need both motor and arm.

The car I'm getting is white, with a black bonnet. Is anyone in the South East interested in a swap? It's not really for me, but I understand some people like the look. Its recently been painted, so is in top condition. I'm happy to travel, and do the work to swap them over.

  7. I stand corrected. Nearly all the cars at work have them, and they are all on the negative lead, but this is purely to prevent battery drain, Ive not looked at the racecar we care for and how its installed. I can see the point of the ignition cut part of it, but Im surprised it cuts the positive circuit from the battery.

  8. Evening all,

just thought I'd say hi. I'm about to buy JT's white Glanza, if all goes to plan i'll collect next saturday. I'm coming from a Clio 200 and haven't owned a turbo car since my EP82 in 2009. Quite excited to get into it, it looks like it'll be a lot of fun! Looking forward to getting together with other owners, not seen one in my area yet.

    Chris.
