  1. Pretty much agree with what's been said here. For me the scene has drastically changed over the years for the worse.

There used to be a sense of community in the older days (2006-2008 ish), I think mainly because these cars were mostly owned by enthusiasts. I used to love driving my old ep82 about, and guys with bigger and more expensive cars used to ask WTF my car was.....it was almost that niche element.

Now I feel I'm almost viewed as another boy racer with a quick whip lol.

I left the scene in 2008, and recently came back, hoping things would be the same if not better, but I was kinda disappointed.

These days, they seem to be getting in the wrong hands most of the times....chavs who end up wrapping them around trees, or blowing them up.

I think this in turn has let to a lot of dodgy sellers capitalising on the market....by either selling things which are overpriced, or in some cases advertising parts and not even sending them out to people. Mega shame really, as they rarely ever happened back in the day.

But I guess times are changing. Be interesting to see how the scene evolves in the next 5 years.

That said, there are still some genuine dudes on here, and TGT forum.....that are true enthusiast which are honest and always willing to help you out.

This. Oh and hello mate, long time! ;)

  2. I used to have the TT slightly modified to 460 bhp. Great cars very reliable if your going for the auto the box is rated to upto 550-600 bhp. Only problem is as mentioned above idiots wanting to race you all the time & visibility. They are not too bad on petrol either it as much better than my CLK 320 on fuel. Oh and the brakes if standard are rubbish.

Auto boxes are good for upto 1000bhp mate!

  3. I've read they are very quick with 0-60 times ranging between 5.2-5.7 seconds is that accurate? I know it depends on the driver etc etc but that is quick! How would it pair against a stock Celica GT4? (on a dry day) The MR2 is lighter where as the Celica is heavier but has 4wd on its side.

Ive owned both and the MR2 is far quicker and a shit lot more fun.

That driver in those vids needs to learn to put 2 hands on the fucking wheel. Hes trying to act too cool. And when he steers he hands are all over the bloody place!

  4. I used to have a rev2 turbo running about 250bhp. Very fast for what they are and handle amazingly.

Traction is just stunning with the engine over the rear wheels.

As for the horror stories of them being ditch finders ignore everything.

Unless your a bellend who has no experience of rwd and you put your foot flat to the floor on a wet roundabout then you will never swap ends.

They tend to understeer more than oversteer (in the wet) as standard.

Although as said above i used to drift mine pretty well, but that was after i already knew how. Defo wouldnt learn in one lol

I would have another for sure.
