Heres a pic of the Saxo this morning, started putting standard bits on her today.. ready for sale lol
-
mate, damian, your car makes me so jealous. I wish I could take it off your hands right now... in a couple of months possibly ;) but wrong time for me right now
-
is she a daily driver mate? do you think you will have reliability issues with that nice amount of power?
-
Cheers boys! yeah I knew about "FTW", Extreme fanatic on the Saxo forum you see with 15,000+ posts lol. Well; today I gotta gut the Saxo of its nice Sparco/Luke Interior and put her back to the fantastic standard seats. Saving the dollar for a couple of months or so (maybe as long as october - 2yrs ncb ftw.) to become a Glanza or Ibiza Cupra lad.
-
Ill try it mate, might give Bell a ring over ze weekend. If I get one for 1k Fully comp its still all good because Im paying that on my Saxo tpft. Heres the Saxo parked next to a mates @ Brands.

sorry to bump an oldish thread, but jesus!! thats some nice power to weight right there!!! -
May I ask why? and also, why would a Glanza be alot dearer to insure than a Starlet when theyre pretty much the same motor?
-
Sure, Ill get some pics of the Saxo on here tonight, atm she's got: BMC enclosed filter, Piper 4-1 S/S Manifold, Supersprint Racetube, Piper 3" backbox, Lowered 40mm, White OZ super T's, 306 GTi6 283mm Brakes, OMP upper and lower braces, cosmetic mods like c/c'd grille, black headlights etc, oh...and a set of buckets and harnesses. May I ask, why is a Glanza so much dearer to insure, as I probably have made the mistake on clicking Starlet GT Turbo. What would an Insurance company call a Glanza Turbo then? Ill get a screenshot of all the options... There is no Glanza on the list, so Im guess

Ah I see! so It may be worth buying one thats already had this kinda work done to it. I see you are from Dartford Kent, do you ever go to Basildon? or ever around Ashford, Kent?
-
Im so amazed right now, if you wanted standalone management on a Saxo..... you have to chop the Wiring loom about (especially for me being a 3 Plug later ECU ) .......so literally the old one just unplugs and new one goes in!? How much are one of these badboys?!
-
Nice! Okay, I shall do that, another random Question, Ive always been led to believe Enclosed filters are better, yet I come on this site and most people are running open filters? Are those ECU's just plug and play? if so the Glanza rocksssss!!
-
Oh I see, didnt think anyone would be so silly? So, for example if I wanted to make my standard Glanza 160/170bhp, please link me to the appropriate pieces of kit, and tell me what id need to do?
-
ta very much guys, gotta say, extremely friendly people!
-
lol. this is kinda off putting. A member of my Saxo club now has a 180BHP Starlet, he claims that they are only reliable when modded correctly? Do you know what he means by this? Thing that draws me to the Glanza is that for £1000 you can make the engine quite the little monster. where as £1000 will only buy me cams and a remap in my Saxo.

Okay cool, ill take a look pal. The one thing that puts me off Glanzas aswell is Ive heard many bad things about their awful handling? Do you think its better If I wait for a modified one? as Im guessing like most cars, mods dont increase the value of the car. My Saxo is great fun to chuck into corners, but Im told a Glanza is more of a straight line car?
