  1. Must be going blind. Where did you get the hardtop visor/spoiler from?

Spoilers are from my amazing affiliated guys in the states Project-G B)

Personally I have two opinions about this. First is, the car looks good that low and is an eyecatcher on every meet I believe. But the second is, that I would never go that low, as (apart from being illegal in Germany where we have to have a minimum ground clearance, I think 8cm) this is just impractical and dangerous for every part of the car that's on it's underside. Also I think this will scrub like hell in curves, so more costs for more tyres more often.

Also I don't like this extreme low wide dished cars as that's what the Golf and Polo drivers around here do the most and I hate most of them for their shitty driving style. And as I live in Germany there are lots of this idiots.

    Greetings,

    Renko

    I agree :)

  2. Probably not allot, think i have taken it as far as possible in my eye's. I could possible wire tuck the bay or give the interior a make over but thats extra money i would never see again.

I'v made my goals (mag features, web features, general interwebz fame) so will most likely see it through the end of this show season then move onto a new project :)

    Air ride Z4 ;)

  3. ahhhhhhhhhh i see!

thanks for taking the time to explain that to me dude, kind of a noob question i know lol, but i know stuff all about the technical side of the stance scene!

also, engine raising?? now that is the most dedicated thing i have ever heard lol!

    cheers dude!

    Phil.

Haha, well the sump was very close to the floor so a large cats eye or stay rock could easily crack it. Solution, raise the engine an inch and weld a big metal plate onto the subframe :D

    looked good on sunday mate

do you have to lay down to get in it? lol

I have perfected the art of falling into my car gracefully now

  4. yO Phil, no worries i get asked this allot.

I drive at that height give or take, for this show i added 10mm spacers on the rear and dropped it about half an inch. Its usually around that height possible an inch higher for daily driving.

Due to have totally independent suspension arms under compression the wheel kinda moves diagonally up and tucks in rather then straight up which would result in scrubbing my tyre.

I'v done a huge amount of work to drive this low daily, all arches rolled/flared, all tabs and arch lining removed, engine has been raised and a sump guard fabricated to protect from cats eye's road debris. I still scrape a great deal on speed bumps and drive ways etc, and cant go allot of places like multi stories, country lanes etc etc. basically stuck to smooth roads and shows.

Would i make another slammed car given the chance?.. Naaaaaaaah, this is far to much work and stress, but it looks dam fine and i can say i have 'Been there done that' Getting a bit old for this daily scraping lark, will most likely be sold after this show season or possible next years show season. Could possible go down the air route with another car though.

  5. I heard it over the speakers!

Was it you that the woman asked "Did you make them yourself?":p

 it was something along those lines, i was like why the fuck you asking me such awkward questions!

    haha i heard this also!

you should have just said .. " BITCH PLEASEEEEE! "

    LOL

She didn't even know what an mx5 was! There might be a photo in Fast Car of me bitch slapper her! lol!

Car looked awesome dude! was trying to find you all day as my friend wanted to talk to you about a Gwing for his MX5.

Heard you won the best wheels of the show and you talking, you deserved it dude!

I was around it for quite a while cleaning the bugger after the motor way journey covered it in crap, although it seemed the same with every stand i went to... i couldn't find anyone! Obviously all looking for each other at the same time, then giving up at the same time, consequently returning to original stands at the same time haha. UKSC stand was dead when i went over .

And another quick pic i was sent, shows fitment quite well. Couldn't get shit between the tyre and fender it was that close, just about squeezed my house key in there

  6. Walked around the UKSC stand a few times but no one was ever there haha!

Who ever the silver Glanza's was on track racing with the white one, i guess TD04 by the sound of it, sounded like it was surging big time!... perhaps look into that lol

  7. i did walk past this and must say its a beauty :)

    Cheers man :)

    Looked awesome at 'fest mate.

My good friend mark wants to talk to you about a Project G order too!! How does he get in contact?

I'v just finished a big order and probs wont do another till later in the year but i can get him in direct contact with the guys, get him to email me:

Chris_love@hotmail.co.uk, titles Project-G UK order or something along those lines :)

seen on in the que to get into japfest :p me n the missus had a walk up the que when we got bored haha

    looks mint :)

The queue was a joke! 3 hours i sat there, but there could have been worse places in the world to be sat waiting haha.

  8. Well apart from the 3 hour queue to get in!! JapFest was goood. Was mad busy and didn't even get a chance to walk down to the UKSC stand... which made me sad :(. Did spot a few UKSC hoodies walking around though.

  10. Update

Well done some small changes today, started at 11am (because i'm lazy) and finished about an hour ago lol.

First up was the addition of some Zoom amber side markers from Rev9:

    Zoomindicators.jpg

The quality is amazing! fitted super easy and look great! Next up where the KG Works intakes i got new a while back... these where a nightmare!!!! :wallbash:. The fitment was completely off and wasn't even close to fitting in the sidelight recess! Long story short i had to get my bench mounted grinder out and take like 1-2mm off top/bottom/side edges then finish with a file.

RunAbout mirrors where popped on and Project-G side Fusers where re mounted after a quick clean.

I had a problem with my BBS not holding air and loosing all pressure  , after a few emails and the ordering of a BBS Torque key i decided to try torquing up the bolts to see if they where loose (this was my first option over removing tyres and re sealing rim). Amazingly i found some loose bolts and after a good rotation of doing them all up i finished at 20Lb/ft and they where holding air again! :woohoo:.

Mounted everything up and this is where i am currently (lots still to do)

Let me know what you think :)

  11. Looks nice man! Just had a read through as i haven't since you got it. Imo the front plate really muffs it up, looks super odd and awkward lol. I'd get a small normal plate and run it along the bottom mesh section, the bumper looks like a pain in the arse to fit a plate to though lol.

    Sounds sweet! :)

  12. Its pretty simple really, think about if you had to convert an n/a starlet to turbo without a 4efte swap. Turbo, manifold, downpipe, injectors and management... thats about it really. Mx5's tend to run T2 T25 turbos so Garrett gt2560, 2860 etc. Or you could get a mani made up for TD04 fitment, easy job really. No turbo conversion is cheap or simple but the mx5's engines are very strong and where made out of factory low compression as there are turbo versions (like the BBR).

Graphs and a bad sound clip are uploading...

  13. when are you collecting i might come say hi

Should be there around 9/9:30am (trying to avoid Saturday traffic on M1)

If your passing and i'm still there feel free to have a chat and check it out :)

awesome :) what are the 1.6 capable of boosted?

trying to decide between a turbo or supercharger :)

An easy 250bhp with the right turbo set up, turbo is the way forward... dont sound quite as neat but are a million times easier to install and tune.
