well does anybody know how and what i need to clean?
removed it, but its a 1 piece thingie
-
thanx.
That looks easy enough to reach.
Will get to it saturday and i'll let you know the outcome.
-
"choke housing" I guess is the same as the automatic choke, is it the bit at the end of the inlet manifold? Thats the idle control valve which I think does the cold idle, it can be taken off and cleaned which usually is all it needs.
thanx, will check it saturday.
Got a pic of the location?
-
well just got back from the dealer, checked it and came up with the conclusion that the "choke-housing" is fucked.
(not sure if its called choke in English, its what keeps the engine at a certain revcount when the engine is cold)
If they hit it with a screwdriver, the revs bounce like crazy.
Anyone know where I can get one? (preferable cheap) ;)
And if the n/a version is the same as the turbo one?

temp sensor sounds like a reasonable option as the temp almost never comes close to halfway.

Gents, I got a new problem last week, this time engine-related.
My day (in the car).
In the morning I start the car with no problem and drive to work.
After a hard day of work my car idle's like shit.
The revs sit around 400-600 and it shakes horribly.
There is also a lot of smoke coming from the exhaust and it smells like half burned fuel or something, car also responds crap on the gas, with a little bit of gas, it shakes and doesn't run smoothly.
Next morning or later in the evening all problems are gone and the car runs perfectly with no smoke what so ever.
I brought the car to the dealer and they replaced the sparkplugs (which was overdue anyway) and it ran smoothly as always, till just now and it was hopeless again.
Does anybody have an idea what the problem could be.
Was thinking about selling the car because I need something bigger, but i can't sell it like this...

wish i could help, i'm fucked with the same problem only at the front
-
Sorry, been working too long in the motortrade dude!
DSR = Driver Side rear (inaccurate if lefthand drive and righthand drive models are being compared)
NSR = Near Side Rear
OSR = Off Side Rear
I have a dutch neighbour if that's any help?
ah thanx, it might, just go get him j/k
Tomorrow when it's light I'm gonna check out the wheellining, cause i think the wheels are eating it up just like they did on my MR2
-
thanx, so it might be a smart idea to fit different springs?
by the way, DSR?, NSR? OSR? talk english man, or maybe even dutch, but doubt the last
-
forgot to mention, it's the front

Guys,
I got a bit of a problem and me and my mechanic are stuck. (problem at the front of the car)
First setup:
Koni yellow shocks, stock springs
Car was more then 20mm lower on the driver side then on the passenger side, rear isn't really affected.
New setup:
Koni yellow shocks, Cobra lowering springs (budget option, i know, but they came with the car).
Now the difference is about 7mm.
The shock seems to work fine, the driving is fine and we couldn't find anything wrong with the arms or anything else.
Visually the difference isn't really noticable, however, now that it's lowered the right side wheel scuffs alot, and idea what it could be, because we have no clue.
The driverside panel seems to be replaced, but we couldn't find any damage on the innerparts.

welcome.
And a remark like that needs to be backed up with pictures, so show me the tomato

i love S2000s, but i think this one is shite.
But as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Thanks ;)
Finished the old Advans last weekend:
Think they came out pretty well.
Looking for some new wheels at the moment, want something in 15" with a better offset then the Work replica's i had.
Probably full black wheels, i really like that on a grey/blue glanza. I quite like the spun SPK-G (sprinthart CP-F copies):
Altough a probably will change my mind at least ten times before a buy something new ;)
If i where you i'd wait (if you where interested), maybe i'll sell mine in a while.
-
are they drift wheels if so there gonna be pricey
around 110 each. (16")

these:
With red nuts ;)

thats good news man.

We found the problem.
It was the wire from the rotorcap (i think it's called that)
(the red wire exiting the right side of the engine)
It had 2 fractures in it and the previous owner decided instead of getting a new one just to mend it the McGuyver way with some tape.
Now we shortened it and replaced the thingie it connected to from the chassis to the strut-brace, and now I just need to order a new wire.
-
no engine light, so the fcd should be fitted correctly.
it also starts before 0.9bar.
I'll just give it to my neighboor (toyota dealer owner) and he can check it out.
thanks guys

I installed a FCD, but I have no idea how I know if it's installed right.
But even when I press the accelerator slighty more it starts shaking before it gets to a high enough PSI for the fuelcut
-
the problem is it isn't linked to the boost (i think), more to the distance i press the gaspedal, thats whats so weird
-
still havn't found the problem, the can idles perfectly, it runs ok, till I press the gas a bit more then i would need to and there it goes again.
I think it doesn't get enough fuel or something...
Need to get someone with a bit more knowledge to look at it.
I was all excited that all my papers finally came in and now this sh*t is acting up

damn that car looks sweet
