Thanks for all your help! I didn't expect such a big response so soon! *EDIT* @Enzo: You say it's been done before, but is this using a 4E or 5E? Excuse my n00bishness, but I have no idea if the dimensions are wildly different. SiCaln says the block's taller, but I don't want half the engine poking out of the bonnet! Can you fit a 5E into a Mini, bonnet shut and all that jazz?

Myself and a friend are hoping to buy a Classic Mini (Hear me out!) and wish to put a 4E-FTE engine inside it... I have seen tidbits referring to boring out the standard 1.3 cylinders to 1.5. Is this correct? Can you bore out a 4E-FTE to 1500cc? Any help is appreciated.
