  1. Best LSDs are the plate types, the likes of Cusco and Kaaz, but these ten to be noisy at low speeds. If you can't deal with the noise, then Quaife ATB is indeed your best bet.

Caveat emptor: Quaife ATBs work well as long as the low torque wheel still has some grip and some available torque, but if you lift a wheel in a fast turn it will immediately revert to zero torque all around like an open diff.....

    Hope this helps

  2. Not sure if this is a repost, but I've just found some handy info on the 4E-FTE;

    http://www.tercelreference.com/tercel_info...nfo.html#4E-FTE

    4E-FTE

    Specifications:

    Year: 1989 - 1994

    Displacement (cc): 1331

    Horsepower: 135 @ 6400

    Torque (ft-lbs): 16 @ 4800

    Bore (mm): 74

    Stroke (mm): 77.4

    Compression Ratio: 8.2:1

    Vavles per Cylinder: 4

    Valve Angle: 25°

    Cam Design: DOHC

    Ignition System: Distributor

    Spark Plug Gap: .022"

Fuel System: Fuel Injected, excess fuel return

    Head Gasket Thickness (mm): 1.2

    Combustion Chamber Volume: 39 cc

    Cars Used In: Starlet GT

    General Info:

Toyota followed similar lines with the 4E-FTE as they did with the 3E-TE. Thus the 4E-FTE is basically a 4E-FE with stronger connecting rods and lower compression pistons. It also has a harmonic damper instead of a normal crankshaft pulley. However, it does share the same head with the 4E-FE, 1st gen 5E-FE, and 5E-FHE. It produces the most stock horsepower of any E series engine.

Over time this has become a very popular engine to swap into Tercels and Paseos due to its high stock power output. It is also known to be capable of handling much more power without upgrading stock internals.

    Similar / Interchangable Parts:

Camshafts: 1st gen 5E-FE, 5E-FHE (slightly higher lift / duration)

    Valvetrain: 1st gen 5E-FE, 5E-FHE

    Head: 1st gen 5E-FE, 5E-FHE

Pistons: 1st gen 5E-FE (higher compression), 5E-FHE (higher compression), 2nd gen 5E-FE (higher compression)

    Connecting Rods: 4E-FE (downgrade)

    Cheers

  3. Welcome Naz :)

Judging by your name I was expecting to see a Bianca White Starlet with white steelies and Rallye stickers :)

Thanks for the the nice welcome by the way.
