Magnetic Sump Plugs from Gold Plug - The last drain plug you'll ever need!
Another American company, Gold Plug was started in 2001, simply because they were fed up of not being able to find a good quality magnetic drain plug for their street bike engine that they had just finished rebuilding. After searching high and low, Gold Plug was born. Now, their daily mission is to supply the very best magnetic drain plugs to keep your vehicle running in the best possible condition. Why choose a magnetic oil plug over a standard sump plug you ask? Well, there's quite a few reasons actually.

Every time you run your engine, there will be a build-up of contamination in the form of thousands and thousands of very small particles of ferrous metal. The main cause for these microscopic particles is friction, and you can imagine how much of this is generated when driving hard. To put things in perspective, an engine travelling at just 2000rpm sends the pistons up and down the bore 33 times per second. Imagine what a day on track is doing to your engine!

These nanoparticles of metal suspended in the oil are considerably smaller than this, and to top it all off, the smaller the particle, the more damage they can do - This is because they travel pretty much anywhere in your engine when under hydraulic pressure. The only way to "trap" these particles is with very strong magnetism.

Sunday 2nd October marks the last race meeting of 2016 at Knockhill. As sad as it may be that the season is coming to a close, the final round of the Scottish Championship Car Racing Series is always a great event and goes out with a bang. Titles will be decided and awards will be won. It promises to be another fantastic installment of Car Racing at Knockhill, and Opie Oils have got a pair of tickets up for grabs!



These tickets will provide you and a guest with entry to the event itself and hospitality with the legendary David Sleigh Racing Team. You will meet the team and hang out with them for the day, lunch will be provided within their race awning. It's a great opportunity to meet the professionals and see how they work. Not to mention being track side all day while the drivers pass at speeds in excess of 120mph.
