Bit of bad news tho...

Recently bought set of Livesports sideskirts and JAM back bumper off idrees which i was very happy with and recon they would look awesome on my car...

BUT.. after getting quotes for spraying and fitting them i dont think i will be able to afford to do this.. and even if i could i would rather save that money to get a GT. So i think i will be selling these (such a shame as it would make the car look awesome!)

yeh think everyone would have a bit more cash lol. its crazy though how a big company will have over 1million customers all paying an average of 550 a year thats 550million and id guess even if 80 percent of them people dont make a claim thats 440million of pute intake and then you say i bought an exhaust for a couple hundred quid and they put the phone down. i mean is over 400million quid not enough profit that they not willing insure the exhaust that even if you make a claim will only make them pay out a tiny bit extra if anythin lol.

another one aiming for that 100 bhp mark lol i dont think its 2 far away its just th lack of parts for the non turbo engine that make it difficult becuase you have to start making your own bits lol.

yeh insurance is a bump. its gone up for people under 24 by like 26% this year aswell. gettin a bit daft money. they would be easier just saying look you cant drive then you would have loads of cash lol.

Bought an SR off Jag few months ago now but only been driving a month as only jut passed my test ...so i recon its about time i get this started.

Pictures will be coming shortly... Not a lot has changed yet.. and still looks the same as to when JAG sold it so pics can be seen in his build thread...

One change has been made... The SR now has a set of black speedlines on her instead of the white ones JAG had...

Looking to do a few mods now...

• Got a Rolla Mani in the garage ready to go on,
  
• New spark plugs ready to be fitted,
  
• Set of Livesports Sideskirts and JAM bumper coming from Idrees,
  
• New rocker cover being painted silver and black by Starlet Jay
  

so really now.... performance things. Want to get it over 100bhp. So currently looking into a few things and will be keeping a close eye on Enzos build thread as i no hes looking to do the same

Yh i will look into it if its to much im jus going to improve my NA for now. All my mates have lyk 1.9 Ibizas and that and would like to not be behind them as much ya no haha

I'm 18 aswell, insurance for a GT would have been around £2k for me but I ended up getting a CRX instead which I'm going to have to wait a few months until I'm 19 before I can get it on the road. Glanza insurance is quite a bit more expensive.

Im 19 in May.. and i spend 1800 a month on insurance on my SR at mo so i wud be lookin to spend bout 2K on insurance at most. Cud prob stretch to a GT if it came under 2K on insurance.

changing to a 5e bottom end will put your insurance up too, wat age are u? maybe just keep it as it is and save for a gt or glanza when u have some no claims

im 18 mate.. 19 this year... thats why was thinkin jus camming it or changing pistons or something... mayb wont put insurance up 2 much compared to putting a turbo or 5E isn't it. Would be well worth the money tho... GT insurance isnt to much is it??

You'd lose power, you'd have to buy some higher compression pistons if you wanted to gain power this way, but that would cost more than it's worth. (Might aswell wait and go for a turbo).

In another topic you were asking about cams, well if you're going to do cams and you're serious about getting more power and have money to spend you could mad with the head, get it skimmed, ported and polished, and a 3 angle valve job, uprated valve springs and the cams. Bearing in mind that would cost a fair whack and not really worth it, because again, you might aswell just wait and go for a turbo or bigger engine.

To be honest once you get past doing the inlet manifold/air filter/exhaust system it gets very expensive to squeeze power out of the 4EFE as it's essentially an economy based small displacement engine that wasn't intended for high power, if you wanted an easy way of getting more power but can't afford to go turbo you should consider a 5EFE bottom end.

i was seriously looking into doing cams but if its not worth the money i wouldnt but i didnt think i would be able to afford a turbo till im about 20.

Does putting a 5EFE bottom end mean getting the lump out of a paseo and putting it into my sr?? this would be a big job would it not.. hmm it is very tempting tho
