  1. You'll probably find you'll be worse off than using the stock unit. PB.
  2. So to recap Spuddy we suggest you invest in the engine management and associated tuning. Many here (in NZ) have retained the factory headgasket even when using forged pistons and rods. The valve stem seals and other parts you asked about in your email i've replied to. Let me know via email when you're ready to go. We have the valve stem seals in stock. Regards, PB.
  3. Well forgive me for thinking you weren't [a person of homosexual persuasion] with all that tongue use back there. What a total clown. ROFL. PB.
  4. Mate, if I could jump on a plane now I'd probably have it sorted quickly. Problem for the both of us I cannot do that so we just have to work through a process of elimination. It'll get figured out EarL, just may take longer since I can't see the car in question. ;) Cheers, PB.
  5. Because they fit in a A5 pack then we could still do for less. Anyway, as I've indicated ... next time aye!. PB.
  6. Nothing like stating the obvious Dave. (yawn) OK, (just for Dave) i'll rephrase ... (yawns again) IN THE EVENT SOMETHING WERE TO BLOW then ... "Let's face it ... better to have the headgasket blow than to hold excess pressure and blow the pistons or rods." PB.
  7. Have you tried another thermostat, just out of interest? If the thermostat or THW isn't seeing any temp signal then the ecu will be overfuelling to compensate which will possibly explain the "splutter and cough" problems you've described. PB.
  8. If we are talking headgaskets here the standard item is normally fine. I've had up to 1.6mm MLS units before. Headgasket remains intact but internals suffer over time. It's the engine management tuning one needs to focus more attention on. Let's face it ... better to have the headgasket blow than to hold excess pressure and blow the pistons or rods. That's our logic on it over here these days anyway. PB.
  9. That's pretty ordinary service isn't it! Next time see us first. Those wheel bearings are a bit steep too. If only we could get that sort of money for them over here! PB.
  10. Can do, when do you need? 3 types available from STARLETPARTS: Budget/aftermarket Genuine Toyota Race PB.
  11. Went to log in to the forum this morning and i'm now getting dns errors. If you click a link to the site off a search engine you get a dns error or page stating unable to find server. (sighs) PB.
  12. I'll give that a try then. Thanks Daniel! PB.
  13. Same problem going on here. Cleared all the TGTT cookies and files in the cache. Allowed in as a guest but as soon as I log in, it shits itself. Just a waiting game now I suppose. PB.
  14. Any of the tech boffins on here know what the error message means? "Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Unable to save result set in /home/toyotagt/public_html/db/mysql.php on line 153 MySQL has encountered an unknown error. To find out the exact problem, please set the DEBUG flag to true in header.php." PB.
  15. Water temp sensor mate. Check the wiring (THW) off the wiring diagram. PB.
  16. Why not ask here? Unless i'm mistaken there's a fair few TSGTT members on here now too! PB.
  17. I think Jay said it all. My feelings exactly. You then go to the Austarlet site and it has it's own feel as well. Variety is the spice of life! PB.
  18. Only really got popular on street cars since Drifting has got a higher profile now. It's been done on the big banger (V8) circuit cars like Transzam Lights to help with heat removal for years. PB.
  19. Toyota state a tolerance of no more than 10% between cylinders is acceptable. Anything under 130psi is grounds for further investigation. Did you do the compression test cold or hot? PB.
  20. Crikey, I bloody well hope that hacker hasn't got into it again!. Caused all sorts of havoc in my u2u inbox. PB.
  21. Me too Rob! This forum's pretty cool as well. I just joined up tonight. Keep up the good work. PB.
