    MOT fail on brakes

ok i will have a look at the rebuild kits then, the brake pads on the front look new but they have been used a little bit, i will have to wait until i get the rear caliper sorted out before i try and move the car as well. cheers
  2. hi, ive just bought a black 1999 (T reg) manual glanza a couple of weeks ago only 60,000KM's on it. The car had been sat around for a few months and didn't have an mot when i bought it but had a good look over it and it looked clean enough. I had to replace the manifold gaskets, the battery and get part of the exhaust welded up then put it in for a MOT but it failed on: Headlamp aim too high (should be an easy fix) 1.8 offside rear mechanical brake component has restricted free movement 3.5.1j offside rear brake binding 3.7.A.5a parking brake efficiency below requirements 3.7.A.10 Front brak
  3. i wil try getting an adjustable actuator then. cheers guys
  4. just changed the oil and oil filter but it was running fine for the first week after that. I never drove the car for 3 or 4 days and then when i drove it after that the boost just seems to be creeping right up at higher revs. Its weird it holds the boost solid at about 0.4 for most of the revs and then when you get up to high revs it just boosts right up to the fuel cut limit
  5. i just changed my oil and filter a couple of weeks ago but never changed the plugs. is it worth changing the plugs then? what is the code for them?
  6. yes ive got a blitz boost gauge fitted and the only mods are a rx-7 TMIC, De-cat, HKS panel filter and HKS back box but it has been boosting fine until this week. im not sure if the boost restriction has been removed how do you check? could it be a dodgy actuator?
  7. hi im new to turbo'd cars so im not really sure on whats going wrong. I have bought a GT turbo back in november, its been running fine until this last week, i will accelerate and it will boost to about 0.4 fine and then when i get to the higher rev range it boosts all the way up to about 0.9 and hits fuel cut (and thats on Low boost). When on high boost it boosts to 0.6-0.7 and then at the higher rev range again it boosts to about 0.9 again and hits fuel cut. i thought it may have been the cold but today was quite warm and its still doing it. Any ideas what my problem is?
  8. hi im needing to get new rear shocks at a decent price. i seen the KYB excel G-Gas shock absorber (http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m19b0s1311p4255). Are they any good to be used with tein lowering springs? and is there any difference in the fitment for the rear shocks between a 1994 model and a 1990 model as they are listed seperatly and at different prices? thanks
  9. yes it was andy that got me into starlets (and this website), never really liked them before i got in one and then it all changed! and i have noticed there are quite a few starlets up this way lately. thanks for the welcome
