Also, turbo-wise, have been informed not to use a CT9 with a 5efe, as underpowered for the slightly larger engine size. TD04 or similar is recommended

Right, am stuck as to what to do first. Either way will have to save a bit, but should I lower the car 35mm (uprated shocks/springs), or save up for a bit longer and go for an uprated exhaust mani with custom exhaust system? (somewhere along the way will be getting some wind deflectors too hopefully) Your opinions please

Nice advice Mark, only thing, Foz has an n/a so doesn't apply to him. That's the problem here, you can't really make an n/a noticeably quicker without spending money. Simple as. Turbo Starlet yes, n/a....no
