Fairly sure these are made by the same company who make eagles etc which are used all over the world especially by the yanks. Handful of people have used them on here and i havent seen a fault yet? afaik SCAT Are made in china also so wouldnt be surprised if they are the same.
I used them on my 5E and there was no problems, they came with spec sheets, They where balanced to within 1gram like SCAT etc.
Also picked up a set of SCATs for a 4e build i was going to do and they where the same
end of the day a basic forged H Beam rod is not difficult to produce, As long as they are well forged and the surfaces are to spec size wise then they will be fine.
If they are out of spec when you check before measurements, Send them back and get your money back...

I don't think you need to explain why you did it micky but if you just mentioned a few words I'm sure everyone would side with you. Let them know lol

Catch cans are setup in various ways, most people just run 2 breathers to a can and block off the inlet port, However this isnt ideal as the PCV Wont work correctly as it hasnt got a vacumm pulled on it. Best way is to run 2 breathers to a tank, Then a 3rd line running to the inlet so it still has a vacuum pulled on it to remove the gases.
There is a link somewhere with a diagram of a proper setup but im not sure where it is!

Nice update, Car is driveable and pretty much ready for an MOT.
Few photos showing the buildup below, All went pretty well considering and the car runs absolutely blob on. No fuel cut, No smoke, And feels nice and quick for the moment!
Suspension needs looking at and i need a new timing belt cover but apart from that im happy.
And yes that is my old intecooler from the glanza, Its still Huge lol

Ahhh fair enough can sometimes get away with it but theres always the chance you will get that :/
Your not having much luck are you!

Go as slack as you can on the actuator mate to run the lowest boost, But yeah as above make sure its got some tension to hold the penny shut!
-
Yes gainzy 13 is to lean that's a nice figure for a nice N/A motor
14.7 is perfect burn (stoichiometric)
11s on a 4efte are bang on. Most plug n plays are too rich and are low 10s most of the time!

Epic thread Charlotte love how your doing it all by yourself as well. Need to have another meet when my GT is sorted.
Paintwork I wouldnt even dare attempt!
just out of interest as well when you were replacing shells etc were you checking clearances etc or just praying they were right? I bet the first bearings on it were fine rather than 2 sets of unset ones!
Hopefully it's the last time you will have to rebuild it lol

Very useful bits of kit. Gained popularity over the last few years as there cheaper now. Most setups are fine yeah but always worth being able to keep an eye on fuelling. Especially on full boost/throttle!
-
Would recommend running a wideband as well to check your fuelling mate.

Omex, bee r of the top of my head. Can adjust how hard the cut is as well on some

If its over on that side of the loom with injectors alteRnator knock sensor try map sensor etc? Lambda is a single wire
-
That's cool, You mean just add the correct inputs etc and leave the stock loom in place? Ie just a plug n play standalone and add the inputs?
-
love a nice gt.great cars.
Thanks mikey. Always liked them so needed to try one!
sounds great toffs
bout the rods personal experience is the gt rods are stronger never 1s failed on me but have the china rods fail on me ( gen2 )
mabie i was just unluky ?
Im unsure Colin im sure the thread was on TGGT, About them being designed to bend and actually being very strong but god knows lol. We will see... I will push it to full potential of my new turbo and if it throws a leg out so be it. I have a spare 4E Block and Head, Forged rods etc sat about so could always build a forged 4E.
That or use the spare 5E Block And Crank and make another forged 5E!
Oi oi looking good toff
Thanks laddo
Little update, Ordered a load of bits to get the car ready for MOT And driveable
- Dual core alloy civic rad
All being well i can fit these this week when i get home for a night or so!

Not being funny mate but use the search function lol.... 5EFTE And there common as muck
-
Ahhhh yes never thought of that. Use old plugs and make a new loom from a new ecu with the flying lead kits?
-
Will have a looksee!

Hello peeps,
Just had a thought milling round in my head about ECU Setups.
I have used a 4EFE From a 2000 reg corolla in my 4efte and upon stripping the complete engine down noticed it had twin coilpacks mounted on a bracket were the dizzy goes on a GT, (Hole blanked off in the head) And a different oil pump with bracket for the sensor, which picked up its reading from the bottom pulley which was also different to the 4EFTE.
Quick bit of googling found a Link ECU Thread which stated its 36-2 Trigger wheel, And being wasted spark will only allow group fire injection.
Am i right in thinking that with a bit of wiring work, And fitment of a different ecu i could run this superior setup? Possible the likes of a Boomslang harness for whichever ECU, And use extra inputs from the coils and crank sensor onto the correct part of the ECU?
Wouldnt want to pull all the original loom out, But i wouldnt have too if used a combination of the existing loom and new inputs would i? Even if i just removed the wire onto the bit of the plug of the ECU and use the new input, Calibrating/setting up on the new ECU?
What do people think??

As above yeah there roughly 90hp. They have a crank sensor and a better ignition setup with no dizzy
-
Sorry to read about this what a shit state to be left in! And just out of interest this was the lad that cut out all the front end of his car including crossmember and chassis rails, And all his wings etc? Oh dear...
-
thats a nice gt you have there good man for saving her
:)
i do have my worrys about the turbos your planing to use on those china rods in the late 4efe block ( be safe ) dont push it to hard
Thanks Colin.
And i wont be pushing it too much tbh most it will be seeing on stock internals will be 220 (TD04 For now) And at somepoint i will downgrade to a TF035 For a bit more response.
Still stock ecu so will be wastegate pressure of approx 0.8. Money is tight ATM but at somepoint it will get an ECU etc and i can build a forgey lump.
The glanza lump i had before did well at over 240 for a long time with massive abuse and there the same rods/crank so there good for more power than people think. Wasnt there a report somewhere when they tested the strength of the later 4EFE/4EFTE Rods and they were just as strong as the early Thick ones?
Oh and update already, Put a deposit down on a full WEPR Evo TD04 Kit minus turbo, So with the spare housings at home i will be building a fresh TD04 13T With a new CHRA/Core and ported housings.

Haha yes yes yes keep them update's coming Toff
Of course i will!
Welcome back and good luck with the build, they are addictive
John
Thanks John and yeah they definitely are!
Yes toff. Welcome back mate.
You should know by now you can't get away that easily.
Interesting engine idea. Looking forward to seeing what happens here
Thanks Matt and i know mate it was obvious really.
And it should go well really, same rods and crank as my last glanza which coped with well over 200 before unknown rod failure so could be interesting.

Skinny rod Colin it was a late spec glanza. Rods in this efe are the same. Snapped at approx 250hp lol unmapped though
