  1. From the picture can you see if the pipes are in there correct places for the standard hi-lo solenoid? I seem to be getting in hi mode the usual restriction on first gear but full boost in 2nd gear which i didnt think was possible unless you by passed that hi-lo solenoid. Confused!?!?!
  2. cheers for that bud, explains alot. On the an aftermarket boost gauge what would you expect it to read when the engine is idling? To me logic says that when you hear the turbo spool up that the boost gauge would read above 0. Mine starts to boost while its still just below 0. My boost gauge is tapped off the hose that leads off the end of the BOV and back to the engine somewhere. I assume this is right as it came that way when i bought it. here is a pic
  3. As soon as i swap those pipes around to bypass the hi-lo and get full boost in first and second gear the boost gauge read 0.85 bar and when there piped correctly it sits at a nice constant 0.65. When i swapped the pipes over i was quite overwhelmed at the diffrence but when i accelerated hard the engine started stuttering, feels like a limiter (Which i bored down to being the fuel cut)
  4. Im just suprised that bypassing the hi-lo boost setting up the boost by that much. Dont understand it. I've not touched anything else
  5. Yeah fair enough, these are the things i really need to know. I think i can get my head round boost creep, but what is over boost and why does it happen?
  6. Hello there everyone, i have abit of a tech question. I have used your brill search engine to find previous topics on this subject but non of them were specific to my problem (Please prove me otherwise) I have recently become the owner of a starlet glanza and working on stats i've picked up from here about the cars i've noticed that my pressure on my boost gauge (Swoosh) is only running 0.6 bar. And thats all the way through the rev range. It definately wasnt in low boost mode. And i wasn't in 1st or 2nd gear. Now i have an adjustable boost knob but i didnt want to start playin with that just
  7. Yeah i kinda like the rims and seats to be fair, personal preference i suppose, well pleased myself. just lookin at intercoolers now and some other new toys. Oh by the way a piece of information just incase any of you are interested, Forge hav greated and atmosperic and resurc dump valve al in one. Does a 60/40 split of boost. 60% is to keep the sensors happy me thinks. There releasing it at the autosport show at the NEC this next weekend so you may be able to either buy it there or atleast place an order. I know this is useless to the majority of you but just spreading the word
  8. Naa its a manual, thought it would be best, but here she is anyway
  9. Well cheers for all your advice, it paid off, and my patience did. Im now the proud owner of a Glanza Woohoo!!! Havent quite got it yet but im picking it up next week all being well. Pics will follow when i get it
  10. I think it looks kinda kool. Looks far from stupid anyway
  11. Does the dump valve sound the same or not? Suprised its quicker. Does anyone on here own one as i want to know how responsive the kickdown is then. Basically i found a minter with low mileage and mint body work at a mint price but only because its an automatic. Oh and also in a kick down what does the car rev to? Thanks for all your help chaps/chapesses
  12. Just spoke to the guy you recommended, seems pretty sound. Apart from the obvious what is the diffrence between the lazybox glanza and a manual one? Can you still fit dump valves and the usual bits onto them? Is there much diffrence between 0-60?
  13. Well im going up there sometime this week so i'll extra specially aware of parts that indicate its been in an accident. I was told the test the car goes through before its exported from japan was very strict and the car was then graded
  14. This quite a passionate subject for him then?
  15. Hmmm could be i suppose. Has anyone by chance had any dealings with keighley motors? I know a few of you told me to steer clear of bradford for imports but just thought id ask why
