  1. is there a part number on the green fuse? ive got a few looms lying in my garage and might have the right one mate,

has this just started happening since you shorted the loom or since you did the convo?

what was the state of the loom wires when you put them in, did you check them for any tears/nicks?

the green relay says 'opening circuit relay' '85910- 10010' then '056700-9364' and it has 5 spade connectors at the bottom.

the only thing caused by the shorting of the loom is the starting issue.

the sidelights were working correctly at one point but when i got the dash and everything back in they changed their mind.

the constant live to the wipers and indicators has been present since i did the conversion.

i checked over the loom before putting it into the car and all seemed well, i removed the dash again yesterday in order to give the loom another once over and make sure everything is in order but it got dark so thought ide save it for wednesday when im off from uni.

i dont know if any of this is making sense to anyone lol. i wish i was better with electrics

  2. Hi again guys, not posted anything in a while, been busy with work and uni. I managed to get the engine in and the wiring done, the car was running and driving properly. just had to sort out a few electrical issues...

    some pics...

anyways, since then the car went back into the garage so i could sort the electrics. In my attempt to 'sort' the electrics while very tired and frustrated, i accidentally plugged the power lead into the interior fuse box while the ignition was on, at this point i heard a pop and thought... "f*ck" since then the car will not start, i started by checking fuses and relays which didnt solve the issue. i then determined that i was getting no spark so checked the ignition coil and amplifier which worked fine when i gave a direct live and the car started. so i then replaced the ecu which didnt solve the issue. now im just confused. i realise that i could just wire a new ignition live to the ignition amplifier but i would much rather find out what the issue is and rectify it. i have one relay yet to replace which i discovered in the dark last night. it is green and says open circuit relay. (so if anyone has one for me it would be much appreciated) i hope that changing the relay will solve the isssue.

any pointers on this would be great. also, when i remove the key the wipers and indicators still work. and when i turn the side lights on the fuse keeps blowing, ive checked all the bulbs associated with the sidelights and they dont seem to be the cause of the shorting.

If any one has any information as to the cause of these issues it would be great as i need to get the car on the road as soon as possible so that i can sell my alfa to fund my university fees. any input would help. Thanks.

  3. the ones for the nissan are the balljoint style , is anyone else got this style or is my arb like fitted wrong haha

just fitted mine today, nice and stiff, and supposed to be better than original ones.

    http://www.tm-developments.com/index.php?m...products_id=497

ours are different because we have ep82 arb's. (assuming amjads talking about his na, otherwise my theory goes out the window)

theres 2different types of oem arb's neways.

  4. Little update, making progress, slowly but surely....

Was removing the rear axle to swap over, only to find that it was kinked after the crash...

    IMAG0611.jpg

so just took the lowered suspension n lowered this one further... :o

    IMAG0612.jpg

    IMAG0615.jpg

then put the suspension and wheels onto the 80. not much space in the garage for any decent pics with a phone...

    IMAG0617.jpg

    IMAG0618.jpg

felt much better with the suspension, was very pleased for the 5minutes i spent driving it to and from home....

decided to get back down to work...

    IMAG0622.jpg

    IMAG0636.jpg

going well so far but this is the easy part, dreading the wiring...but where theres a will theres a way...

and the last pic of the night

thoughts please, Im wondering how it would look with the Quadlights from the GT....

  5. easier to plead guilty by post! just put down you have fuck all disposable income like the others said, i was doing 56 in a 40 = 3 points and £109 fine (i was fucked off with the fine amount!! lol)

if they thought it was a super speeding case you wouldnt be getting the option to plead by post, it would just be a summons for a court appearance!

as above if it was mega then you would have got a summons. you shouldnt have said it was you if you cant see your face in the image because then the court would have thrown it out. now i advise you to just take the hit if your not gona loose your license so you dont get on their nerves. And dont ignore it, one of my mates got a routine stop and ended up getting arrested for ignoring a court summons, unless you fancy it...

p.s. shit happens. you live n you learn or you live n you dont learn :D

  6. i think so mate, my old car was 80bhp ,but when i got the starlet it just seemed to climb to redline so so fast but now after 6k it feels like 6k / 6.5k /7k

where as it felt instant lol, hopfully going to time my 0-60 over next few days so hopfully find out abit more

dont think timing your 0-60 will really help, the fuel will cost you as much as puttin it on a dyno. i think u should park it up for 24hours then go for a drive, the adrenaline comes back. :D

  7. got a couple pics of the completed car here. will add some of the the project being undertaken soon.

cheers mate, cars looking good, that front mount does look like it was a pain in the arse to get in there, haha. Yea not looking forward to the loom at all, really not a fan of electrics and my loom from my gt is in a rather sorry state. wish I could just buy a brand new loom for it. And an earthing kit is on order so that should solve any issues in that department.

  8. yea the brakes are bigger 257 as oposed to 238,

a rear jdm bumper does a lot to update the rear end, check my build threads in the ep82 section to see what i mean

Wheels will get changed then. I see what you mean about the rear bumper, mr bap looks nice from the back but i think it has alot to do with your colour combination too with the flat red and stock black bumper. Ahh one thing at a time tho eyh.
