  1. few things could have done it, did he skim the head, if your replacing a head gasket you should always get it skimmed, irrespective if you think its straight or not, for the cost its not worth risking it.

    He also would have had to torque the head down to the specified Nm limits and also in the correct order. If it has gone 3 weeks after he has done it, he hasn't done it properly.

    the head was skimmed and pressure tested, and what order should the head been torqued down in?

    Cheap or genuine gasket?

    even tho its not a genuine head gasket kit surely it should of survived longer then 3 weeks of normal driving at 0.6bar of boost....?

  2. had my head gasket done about 3 weeks ago by a friend of the family at his garage.

    was perfectly fine until last tuesday when it started to misfire and run of 3 cylinders, so got it home changed the spark plugs, leads, and dizzy cap and still running on 3 cylinders, it then got worst and started to run on 2 cylinders and cutting out.

    so got the compression test on it and found it had no compression on cylinders 1 and 2. got my friend of a family to come tow it back to his garage to see what was wrong and he took the head off and said the head gasket was cracked between the cylinders 1 and 2....

    the head gasket kit was from TM Developments which i supplied to him along with new headbolts and washers.

    how could this happen after just 3 weeks of driving? it is the head gasket kit? or could something during fitting caused this?

  3. Done a compression test today

    results:

    done a compression test today results

    cylinder 1= 20 psi

    cylinder 2= 20 psi

    cylinder 3= 140 psi

    cylinder 4= 140 psi

    engine was warmed up, throttle fully open and put some oil in 1 and 2 but still no change...

    my dads mate said valve springs broken or broke valve.

    any ideas?

  4. started my glanza up this morning and it took ages to get going and noticed straight away it was misfiring.

    so changed the distributor cap, ht leads, and spark plugs...

    but still no spark on cylinder one.... but when i rev it up above 3k it starts to make a tapping sound like metal on metal......?

    no smoke and just had the headgasket done about 2 weeks ago.

    engine mods: zisco mani, zisco decat, tail wastegate, fmic, relocated air filter and running 0.6bar of boost.

    any suggestions?

  5. I just got my glanza back after having the head skimmed and new headgasket kit fitted now it holds temp nice and no smoke but there is still MAYO under the oil cap? Cleaned it off and drove to work and it was back again...

    Any ideas?

    There are some rubber washers under the rocker cover nut which I can't remember being there before?

  6. im sure if your engine light came on you could do a diagnostic check through the engine bay port and find out if its a sensor issue, even if the light doesnt stay on it mite still tell you

    just search on here for the method on bridge the to pins in the diagnostic port

    done the diagnostic check and it comes back with error 24. ATS air temperature sensor.

  7. when I'm driving along it will cut all power and boost...

    does it when I'm on the motorway mainly but sometimes its fine.

    Doesn't matter if I'm on or off it boost it still does it... engine management light comes on then goes 3seconds later.

    its not boost cut... and would it have anything to do with my rev gauge not working sometimes?

    anyone have any ideas?

    i noticed a knocking noise coming from the front of my car so had a look at the driveshafts and noticed one of the cv joints had spit quiet badly (see pic)

    its for a glanza V 96 spec. old owner said its got the factory LSD.

    Do i have to change the whole driveshaft? or will it be okay to change just the joint? CV joint

  9. 1.2 bar on a standard turbo will pull 200bhp though mate if your aiming for 200bhp you may as well keep your standard turbo

    with that in mind im going to keep the standard turbo and run it at 1bar (as ive got a spare 1 bar wastegate spring) then get a FCD and FPR then see how much it is running.

    Cheers mate, the old owner said it had a port and polished head but no proof so maybe he was telling the truth?

    I live in bristol how much was it to do there and are they any good

    its £65 plus vat. could probably get it cheaper if there was a group of us.

    yeah they know there stuff and the guy said they have mapped a few TD04 starlets there and can map on greddy emanage as long as you have the cables and software. and its £80 an hour for mapping.

  11. Went to InterPro in Thornbury today to find out how much bhp before i change the turbo.

    specs:

    zisco external wastegate manifold

    zisco decat

    Tial wastegate - 0.6bar spring

    CJ performance frontmount intercooler

    relocated air filter

    blitz dump valve

    blitz nur spec exhaust

    dyno print out

    made 171bhp at the flywheel - What do you think?

  12. im fitting my zisco ct9 manifold (external wastegate) and got two problems

    first problem is the external wastegate is hitting my bottom radiator pipe on my civic half size rad...

    second is the lambda sensor is hitting the pipe that goes down to the external wastegate and not letting me fit the turbo onto the manifold...

    anyone know what im doing wrong? :thumbsup:

  13. Ran into a white glanza about midnight last night around cribbs/westbury area in bristol, the driver joked he was running 0.6 bar on ct9 and then pissed all over my stock gt lol. Deffinately had a screamer sounded nuts! Anyone?

    That was me ;)

    Seriously I am only running 0.6 bar ct9 on an tial external wastegate with screamer pipe.

    the women said that its not an automatic refund it was just a option that sends a automatic email, so now all ive got to do is wait until the 21st and escalate the case so that ebay put a person in there to review the case and they will decide.
