  1. thats dissapointing, its what i already thought but was hoping to be prooved wrong. cheers anyway
  2. alright guys this question relates to my st205, speaking to dean(rwdevelopments) last night about my choice of alloys with the route im going after looking at stanced out gen 6s, for a good while i was under the impression on gt4oc reading posts that 15s-16s had major issues clearing the calipers, even some 17s had trouble depending on wheel design, dean reakens some of you guys are doing st205 4 pot conversions on your glanzas, so im interested to know what info you have for me please and what some of you have found out, reason i ask here is your all youngish fellars of around my age who want to do crazy things to your cars, gt4oc's full of mature guys in their 40s who dont go that way or ever do anything not the norm on the gt4s apart from either tune them or go the motorsport/rally look. cheers jim
  3. what nazzuro said 1st system, the cameras look alot more proffessional in the second system but dont be fooled by the fact it says sony on the second system cameras im pretty sure most cameras come with sony chips anyway. we fitted a 4 way dvr better than this one with a bigger hard drive and better cameras on a massive mansion for i think £1200, including cable and 2 of us, i would have to ask but i think my dad was on about we could fit the same dvr with 1 or 2 cameras for about £800 that was pretty much one of the best cheapest systems and cameras too, thats cheap aswell if you looked around unless you was hiring some cowboys who will throw it in for 10 quid lol. thats mobile phone too and it dont have to just be iphone cant speak for all systems but our one works on most java phones ive an old sony erricson and it works sound on there. just realised i sound a little hostile when im on about this but no harm meant
  4. the dvr's i suppose aint too bad good quality normally sees about 2 weeks or something dependant on the harddrive size and how many cameras youve got, which is what you want max quality, the shops we do normally want at least 30 days but they also want a good picture so with the amount of cameras they normally have at least 16 and alot of shops just lately are moving to 32 and using 2 16 way dvr's so weve been fitting units with 1 terrabite drives, its more the cameras are rubbish and they say there this amount of lines and that, but its more apparent if you get to view different cameras in places that have got 1 or 2 cheap cameras and the rest decent equipment, i always say this to everyone if the cheap stuff is that good why do wickes pay more than the price of a whole cctv systems they sell in their own store to fit 1 camera wired and a couple of blokes wages lol. ive done cctv for alsorts of places primark, smiths, debenhams, big supermarket chains, the jewelry quarter etc... we fit dvr's that cost 2-3k alone at some places who are very paticular,i suppose you could say the cameras do vary and some cheaper ones are better than others, not long back actually we fitted a cheaper camera on somones house the picture wasnt bad and it had audio aswell, it was also wireless well they say that but you still need power so still a ballache if your doing an install for a customer it has to be nice and neat and clipped etc so no time is saved really and then the picture goes fuzzy because you need line of sight really, ive been doing this for a few years but my dads done it all his life but i tell you something you never do learn 1 system no matter how long youve been doing it you fit 1 dvr and never see it agen lol, this jobs turned into allsorts and into the realms of i.t. and a computer person and many things than just fitting it now, the problem seems to emerge with quite a few people when it comes to setting it up over the net and even we are left scratching our heads at times the netgear router seems to work the best weve found, its when customers cant remember the passwords to access their routers. suppose its a difficult one unless youve been or seen the different systems, its all down to cost and people dont want to pay the money so weve found ourselves fitting cheaper equipment in the times were in, its like anything i want to push down the price on getting more power out my engine so ill scout ebay and forums etc... and then say well i can get this for that much but then they are asking more money for their item and telling me that this one does so much more and is better quality but my ears are shut to that bit im looking at the price and thats what everyone does with us apart from the big chains who still want the best gear. more people have a go at doing it themselves i know i would if i didnt do it for a living id just do it myself to save money, but weve met alsorts of customers that have decided they can do it and its just ended up costing them money in the end or they have paid cowboys. ps sorry for the massive essay
  5. haha was too funny my sisters just sold hers aswell and it looked the spitting image.
  6. shouldnt have to go round thinking like that when you work hard to mod your car. i panic about leaving my car at the cinema and stuff people just carelessly wang the door open with no respect for anything just because they dont care.
  7. bastards mate, its a joke you cant have nothing without some nob trying to nick or destroy your propperty, ive got a decent cctv system on my house none of this 199 quid cheap shite from your local wickes but i fit cctv for a living etc... if your interested we have fitted quite a few systems at houses, car tuners and car enthusiasts where you can look on your mobile phone and laptop etc... but these are a fairbit more than some cheap system you can buy from aldi but you get what you pay for like anything do you rebuild a big power engine using the cheapest parts you can find or do it propperly lol.(i say this cause everyone shows interest untill you tell them a price because they saw some rubbish system in their local maplins with no after support)
  8. cheers guys i look for music with abit of atmosphere tbh.
  9. awesome vid
  10. drilling the holes is quite simple matey, all you have to do is check the other side before drilling to see where its going to drill through, rear drilling points i had to remove my alloys so that i could get to the other side of the hole when fitting cage and so you dont accidentally drill the tyres lol, once thats done if you hadnt got a friend at hand like i hadnt when i did mine i got a set of molegrips the other side tightened them up from the outside with a socket and the molegrips will hopefully catch the car itself and stop them moving, also id reccommend if you havent already making up metal plates for the outside of the car rather than big washers that ive seen supplied before now, i also must do this myself(as ive got massive washers too) because if you have an accident you risk the bars ripping out the floor and killing you. basic bits really are you need a metal drill bit and make sure the drill isnt on hammer, youll see its fairly straight foward, also make sure no wires are trapped on the inside of the cage or under a carpet depending how you are going upon mounting it stripped out or still carpeted, i have no idea about the layout of a starlet cause mines a gt4 but itll no dought be the same principle also watch for fuel tank and stuff. hope its been of help
  11. that pic chris took of your starlet is awesome i never got to see all the pics he took in the end send me a link mate??? and yes i am well behaved these days, its keyboard warriors and people who take life too seriously who hate me normally lol.
  12. cheers for the welcomes again, and yes deffinately whatever you guys are up for, wednesday night would of been perfect.
  13. haha that phone is finnished now i got another spare phone off my sister which turned out to be even more pink than the other one. i want an iphone on pay as you go as i dont do contracts but £500 is much needed on my car. i did get some footage ill edit what i filmed heres a starter of another vid i did so you can have a look, vids nowhere near finnished, tbh i only got into the filming last year so were not all equiped with pro gear etc.... but hoping to eventually get to that stage when my editing is better and a decent camera. feel free to remove the link if its not acceptable on the forum http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DV2h-ivECCU cheers for all the welcomes aswell
