  1. So I see mate with lightning fast replies as well I'll probably utilize the fountain of knowledge of these forums quite a lot since I'm not exactly a car buff but I can read instructions very well, so as long as I've got a bit of guidance as to what I'm doing I should be golden ! Cheers -Doc
  2. Aye it doesn't look too bad at all, I was between that and a Quad light GT, but traveling is a bit of an issue for me so I ended up going with the closer car haha, I also learned that you could paint intercoolers which is kinda cool although my plans for an FMIC won't see the rising sun top mount last long, I really liked the wheels on it though, I've got a thing for decent looking alloy wheels so that's a big bonus for me, hopefully gonna strip it out and just have the two front seats. Possibly buckets in the future but for that price I can't complain. Just one question, what's an "S/S Exhaust system" is it a manufacturer or a type of exhaust?? Cheers -Doc
  3. Well assuming that it is the head gasket then that would be fantastic Thank you. -Doc
  4. Don't worry, I will - build threads ahoy ! And thanks I wasn't sure I wasn't sure how I was going to find out but you've just made that a lot simpler ;) -Doc
  5. I'm hoping that it's as tidy underneath as it is up front as I've still gotta get an MOT on it. My first plans are to get it up and running then I'm going to get one of the non "woosh" dump valves in favour of a "chirp chirp" one like in rally, I'm also going to look into an FMIC and remove the aircon ect. But I'm best to take things one at a time -Doc
  6. Cheers folks - so very welcoming -Doc
  7. That sounds good to me if it's just the head gasket that's gone rather than having to replace a turbo ect so this could be rather good for me And as long as the members can be paid in bear and good cooking for their help that'll be fantastic ! -Doc
  8. From personal experience I'd say that there isn't much that's going to replace a fully blown sub setup however I'd say that if you want a "halfway house" so to speak I'd go for a set of coaxial speakers and you could fire them in the back parcel shelf, if you're going to be using an amp you could get some 150 watt RMS units which would deliver a nice amount of punch & bass whilst still having the tweeters in the centre to clean up the sound a little, there are plenty of them on the market but I would say avoid some of the cheap ones online which cost about 30 quid for the set, a good pair of coaxial speakers should work well, especially if you combine them with a nice set of component speakers then you'll be cooking with gas. Hope this helps. -Doc
  9. Glad to see so many Scottish around on here Does anyone know how the feel of this car will compare to an Astra Coupe 1.8?? -Doc
  10. Thanks for the rapid and warm welcome ! I've not picked up the car yet, but hopefully I'll have it within a few days, I've tried to fix that link -Doc
  11. Hello ukstarletclub.com ! The name's Rab I've recently just bought [as of about 10 mins ago] a Glanza that was on ebay as spares or repair as it runs on 3 cylinders and needs a new turbo as well as lacking tax and MOT. I've always liked the starlet and the glanza and when I saw this wee one on ebay I thought to myself "why not go for it" http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260839654343?ssP...#ht_1069wt_1141 is the Glanza in question I plan to get it on the road just now since I'm just starting uni studying Sound Design in Abertay uni but I'm going to slowly build up the car mostly using the 200bhp guide thread ;) If you guys have any inputs of ideas and anything to watch out with it'd be much appreciated. Thanks once again. -Rab
