  1. well i've driven it around today and the nut doesnt appear to have moved, but i didnt locktite it, should i take it of yet again and return it with locktite or jb weld or just leave it alone?

I dont think the nut is under much strain, it appears to hold the large washer against the bush and sleeve on the stud, I think all stress is on the stud in an up down motion not the nut and washer.

  2. hi, thanks for reply,

theres no part of stud end visible ie doesnt go past end of nut so cant put a pin after nut. I have a 12mm chaser on order, it was a 13 thread and flange nut. ive hand tightened it for now and taken it for a good drive over bumps etc and it hasnt moved so maybe buying a new 13mm nut and some araldite would work, i'm no mechanic so recutting it worries me. i guess i could just pop into quikfit and let them put a smaller bolt on.

  3. HI all

Well I've been a wally, I replaced my panhard bar yesterday as drivers side was scrubbing. I swear I only tightened the flange nut holding the whiteline bar at the axle end by hand, But it didnt feel tight so i gave it a couple more pushes. I then decided to locktite it and removed it again but it had stripped the thread completely for the 1st 1/4 inch. The nut now only bites for about the last 1/8th inch. Arghhh these 5 minute jobs.

What should i do? leave it with only a bit of bite on thread, araldite it? I dont have tap and die and you couldn't get to it anyway, i think its 13mm stud would a 12mm draper hex die cut a new thread then use a 12mm flange nut, they say they are only for chasing bolts not rethreading.

And all on a bank hol weekend when everywhere is closed until monday :-(

    advise much appreciated

  4. Hi

My Starlet SR appears to have the washer function the wrong way around ie pull wiper arm toward you does nothing unless rear wiper is on then it actives washer , and rotate arm end and it actives bonnet washer, is this correct? if not how do i correct the wiring for it.

    Many thanks
