    The only thing with the ecu light is once I turned the car off and started it up again it wasn't to be seen. And hasn't come on since. So if I was to check for fault codes I guess nothing would come up =\

    Ok..so any idea what would be the best way forward? When you say off the dizzy, is there a sensor situated within or wiring?

    Sorry I'm abit stumped and need help as its really fobbing me off now :( I had the engine check light come on at 1 point when it all happened if that's any help.

  3. Hi was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as 2 where I can find the cps?

    The reason I'm asking is I have a problem with my rev counter not working and I was told it might be due to the crank position sensor being faulty. As the rev runs off of this.. Is that correct?

    Any info from you guys would be very helpful.

  4. Ahh ok, yep fuse is under the steering wheel, worth checking them with a multimeter as sometimes u cant tell if theyve blown.

    Not sure if the signal comes straight from the distributer or if it goes through the ecu 1st

    Theres also the fusebox in the engine bay but I dont know what in there could affect it.

    The only other thing is a bad earth or the stepper motor for the counters fubar'd. I have got a set paseo dials in bits you could have the motor from them if you want to try it?

    Oh ok, think I might have 2 try that as they seem 2 look ok by eye. And it's just the rpm needle that's got the prob so would that be the motor most prob if not the fuse. Is it straight forward job 2 change the motor? N thanks for the heads up. Much appreciated.

    I had a problem with the clock light aswel and seems 2 b a loose connection because when give it a whack it sorts itself out lol. Think that would have had anything 2 do with it?

    What mods u got, deeerty ricer tacho? Or an ecu or piggy back that may also use the signal?

    Have you had the clocks out for anything resently?

    Lol no mate no dirty ricer tacho and no mod apart from turbo timer. I have taken the clocks out and made sure all connected at back and checked for any loose wiring but all seems 2 be in order. The fuse for it is located under the steering wheel? As I have had a look there and seems 2 be fine.

    The clocks were more than likely taken apart at beginning of this year as the car was imported then.

    Would it be a sensor? And if so where would I find it?

    Yeah I thought it prob be a quick fix but hardly get the time 2, and as it's not really bothered me much I just left it.

  7. If theres a problem with the gearbox, more than likely it'll be the rivets that hold the diff together. They tend to pull themselves apart, causing the box to self destruct, just a warning:)

    Lol cheers mate. I don't think that's the prob as I use it daily and the problem seems 2 come and go. I think it might be the drive shafts but garage near work said gearbox but not totally convinced.

  8. For sale is my polo 6n2 16v (100bhp)

    I have owned the car for around 3years and haven't really had much problems with

    it in that time apart from the peddle box giving way.its covered just over 116000 miles a lot of this is motorway and mileage is likely to increase as daily drive.

    The car was standard when purchased and has had a few modification since.

    Gti splitter

    De-wipered

    Tatechnix adjustable coilovers

    Smoothed front and rear bumpers

    Smoothed boot lid (rear handle taken off, boot solenoid fitted with button installed)

    Roof resprayed in satin black

    Interior dash plastics resprayed

    Bad bits: the front and rear bumpers have slight scuffs and the bonnet has got key mark with slight laquer peel.

    The driver side window switch operating the passenger window likes to go up but not down, works fine from passenger control, switch needs replacing or even just a quick clean and there is a problem with the gearbox, this needs replacing along with the peddle box.

    MOT expires in October

    Tax expires end of June

    I am looking for £1100 as i need it gone.
