Exhaust/mapping

Can anyone help me here.

I have a forged glanza running 305bhp.

The exhaust on the car is to loud for my liking and I have asked someone about either adding a back box or changing the whole system completely and they said I'd have to get the car mapped again if I did.

Is this 100% true? I understand how it can mess with flow and back pressure just need a little help as I don't know what to believe

Yes you will need to take it back to your mapper to tweak the map to suit the new exhaust

Can I get it tweaked anywhere as where the car was mapped is 5 hours away ?

Nope 98% sure the map will be password protected by the tuner.

You'll be able to change the backbox without needing the map tweaked, however if you change the mid pipe diameter or shape that will require some fiddling with the calibration.

I haven't got a back box. I wanted to add one due to the noise.

Just add a backbox
