Anyone using one of these on their set up? Thinking of buying one to help stabilise boost and have ability to switch between a high and low boost setting in car. Are they easy enough to set up (obviously following instructions). I am not thinking of running over 1.3 bar anytime soon so I think type S is the way to go, correct? Is there any benefit for going with the type r?

All advice or alternative solutions/EBCs will be considered

Thanks

Ashley

I had the Spec R a few years ago, the solenoid was fucked and was as expensive to replace as getting a whole new controller.

I'd buy new rather than second hand on that basis, but that's just my experience.

They're good and hold boost well, and certainly cheaper than the likes of Apexi AVCR. Another good options is the HKS EVC.

Thanks Adam. I had an avcr on my old starlet it came on the car didn't realise they cost that much though! I think for what I need it for the blitz is a good choice. I will be buying new around £200 delivered that seem about right or can anyone recommend cheaper from anywhere?

Yeah they are expensive, but also complex to setup unless you know what you're doing.

£200 sounds about right, not been in touch with the game recently but think a couple of years ago they were around £260 (Spec R).

Thanks for your help Adam mate. So am I right in thinking I can set up say a 0.8bar setting and a 1.1bar setting that can be switched between easily in car for everyday driving and playtime?

Yeah mate, the Spec R you can have 4 different settings, not sure about the Spec S.

Remember you can't go lower than actuator / wastegate pressure though.
