Rear window louver kp61 install

I recently found a rear window louver for my 1981 KP61.

I haven't seen one since about 1990 when I last owned one.

This is super rare here in the U.S.

How about in the U.K.?

Yeah not seen any in the UK they used to be on ebay a while back I think from Germany.

I saw one on Ebay.

The seller said it was "The only one in the U.S." $800

I found this one 40 miles away for $75. Just needed a paintjob.

Good find then, I think the ones I have seen before on ebay might have been fibre glass.

This is an Aluminum, riveted unit with two prop rods for lifting to clean the window.

Well made.

But it makes the hatch just heavy enough that the single gas strut used to hold the hatch open....no longer will.
