How to make rear number plate lights bright?

I have a light out on my bootlid right now so only have one and it is rather dull. What i want is the both lights to be really bright so u can really notice the number plates. Where can i get bright bulbs for it or how do i make it really bright? Anyone done it?

i think it tells u the type of bulbs u need in the bk of your manual!

shooed be a 501 same as the front side lites

yes they are the same as side light bulbs

I put my xenon ones in there and they looked class but didnt look as bright (maybe a good thing )
