nic1.3 Posted June 8, 2008 Share Posted June 8, 2008 hey everyone. as the title says i want to know how to change the track rod thats attached to the hub.Now i can get the track rod end off the hub thats not the problem, what i cant do is get the threaded rod from the steering rack off it.is there a knack to getting this off or is it brute force.im hoping to do this myself and save sum money so any help would be appreciated. StarletRick Posted June 9, 2008 Share Posted June 9, 2008 yeah, just loosen up the bolt on the end, and then the teack rod will just spin off. they can be stubborn... but some penetrating fluid should help you out. if you really have trouble, you can use a torch on it, but that will ruin the unit and youll have to get another one, heating up a track rod end is an instand MOT fail.
