fmic do they really cut power?

can anyone help i said to a freind the other day about getting a fmic and he said that it would make my car go slower and loads of turbo lag unless i uprate the turbo, but i cant see that because surly it would give more cooling with a fmic thus giving more power can anyone help because i think he is talking s**t

Yes he's talking out his arse, it may give a little more lag but will be better overall.

The "lag" comes from longer pipework that the turbo needs to fill You won't really notice it anyway. HE is not talking crap but is just poorly informed
