Bildo Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Anyone intending to buy his new album 808's and Heartbreaks that he's releasing this month, be warned that the album is COMPLETELY different to anything he's released before. The whole album is done in auto-tune, the same style of "singing" that T-Pain and Akon use. This will not suit everyone's taste, and it is not what you would expect from a normal album from him.I'm a huge fan, but just got the new album and I really would advise listening before buying..Just trying to stop people wasting money while this pathetic credit crunch is on! mykalem Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Yeah I have heard a few tracks from the album, K West is really talented he is probably trying new things to keep his fans listening. I won't be buying it i will be downloading it!!! Quote
Bildo Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 He's basically said that by releasing it it's his way of getting over his Mum dying and breaking up with his Fiance.Either way, it's a very strange album. Quote
addz Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Thanks for the 'warning' bro.I don't listen to him more into the hardcore rap scene. Quote

Bildo Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 Never liked Pimp C, I felt he truly defined that you get legendary status after you die.I do however like Bun B a lot, feel he was easily the best of UGK. Quote

He released like 16 albums. Quote

He released like 16 albums.I understand the whole UGK scenario, I just thought that Pimp as a solo artist wasn't as talented.I agree on the older stuff, it's got silly now, but I feel there is still a few artists keeping it going properly. Common for one I feel is one of the few rappers left who is still genuinely talented. He does seem to be trying a bit too hard to push into the mainstream now though and can see him going downhill.I've heard a bit of Too Short's stuff, and what I heard, I liked. Quote
addz Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I know what you mean.Still a few keeping it rap out there.Do check out more of Short's stuff Quote
SpeedFreak Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Im not into Kayne any more. I am not feeling his new sound at all, just doesnt suit him. Quote
Jules-B Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Yeah alot of these artists are using effects more and more now..It isnt nesscacelary (sp ) autotune. but similar effect can be used with it.personally i dont use autotune. if a singer is shit, then i dont use them! Quote
Faisal_Sol Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Hmmmmmm lucky I didn't buy this then, I was in HMV's this morning and was about to buy it but then heard about Kano's new album and bought that instead.I don't like Kanye's new style, but it does show how versatile he is with music. Quote
Sparky Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 I heard his new song "Heartless" and I kinda like it Quote
SR17 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 i liked his older stuff, dunno about this new style though can kind of see he is trying to diverse.we will soon find out if people like it, just wait to see the record sales against his previous albums Quote
Bildo Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 To be honest the majority of fans of an artist will buy their new stuff good or bad. Most people won't even know that he's completely changed style (which was the reason for this topic.)The album has grown on me and I listen to a few songs occasionally, but the warning still stands!
