Short Shifter

Went to fit a short shifter kit the other day and couldnt get the bolt the holds the top cap to the shifter out, because of this friction fitted washer?? anyone had any luck getting it off, was going to cut it off and put another one on, but toyota cant sell me one on its own, only if i buy the whole shifter assembly!!! Anyone know where i can get another one or something similar to use???

Hmmm, you might want to ask Sheekey buddy. If you have no luck, I'll give you the one from the breaker.

Cheers matey ill let you know if i cant do it, mite just try and put a washer then a circlip to hold the washer on, see if it works!!

I'm pretty sure I just hammered the metal stick and it went through though, can't totally remember.

Mine must be on mega tight, i was hitting it till the car was shaking... but no luck, maybe i need a bigger hammer!!!!!

Keep bashing it out as hard as you can. You can get another if you break it from the scrappys at least. Mine even chipped a little when i did it but it still works fine.
