  1. Dealt with Dave a great deal of times. Truly a great bloke who was more than happy to give advice to anyone. The best of the best always die young. R.I.P. Bourkey
  2. Hi all!!! Yeah i pop on every now and then but not much any more i'm afraid. I've had a little browse at a few cars today though and I must say some of them have gone through some nice changes. Some old member still here and some new ones i've not seen before. I was also tempted by black SR a few months back lol!! Since the accident i'm all healed up now. I'm stronger than I was before too so all seems to have ended well. I just need to get off my arse and sort my license out now . It's nice to be thought of after such a long time away from here anyway. This was the last place i was expect
  3. Sure sure . I'll get some decent motorway shots again on the way there. Bourkey
  4. I honestly can't believe people still buy these. They were crap years ago and still crap now. All it takes is a quick search on here or TGTT. You will get the odd one or two that last longer but they all eventually crack or just fall apart. Some risk it like i did but i was lucky. They can seriously cause some damage if they fail like the above picture. I think a topic like this should be pinned for newer members as this has been discussed countless times over many years . 8. After over a year off cars...i still rule . Awesome car now and i was very impressed with the quality of the HDI boost controller. Very easy to fit if your are technically minded and very easy to use. I still have whiplash from the awesome bunny hopping though . Hey you can see my current ride in one piccy. 26" rims!!! . Bourkey

  10. I really do hate the way people are complaining about a situation that is out of the governments hands. It is called an "act of God" for a reason. Imagine if a plane went up into a cloud and came crashing down. Imagine your parents, your brothers and sisters, your husband or wife on that plane, then what would all the moaners be saying. I don't know about you but i'd rather be stuck on the ground than hurtling towards it like a dart. Boo hoo people missed a holiday. At least they are alive to miss it. My girlfriend is supposed to be going travelling for 3 months in 2 weeks costing £3k
  11. As soon as my ban is up (18 weeks ) im getting a 03/04 ZX6R. Main reason being cost. I can spend £3k on a bike and £500 on insurance and have the time of my life or, £500 on a 1.0l Micra and £3k on insurance and i'll want to slit my wrists everytime i see it. Plus i have always wanted a bike. Never had the guts to get one as i was worried about getting hurt. Got just as hurt in a car so i might as well give it a go. Age is a big factor in choosing a bike too. I have spoken to many riders as i was going to start very small but they said i would get bored of it
  12. I'd hate a car for everyday like this personally, but i appreciate what it is. Just i don't like the Veyron either but what a car! It just baffles me when people buy a car that has been built for a reason, decide they don't like it, and spend even more money to change it. Surely there was some form of test drive before the purchase to evaluate if the car was for you? Bourkey
  13. Only just seen this topic again. Sold a car with no lag, bought a car with lots of lag when he wanted no lag, then converted it to TD04 so it has less lag. Your telling me that this was cheaper than a recon on the TD06??? Pretty doubtful. This car was the first of it's kind. Fair enough it isn't Rick's anymore and the new owner can do as they please but surely they knew what they were getting themselves into buying the car. It was for unreal top end power as everyone had gone down all the usual routes. Im with Rick on ripping the TC stickers off. Bourkey
  14. Could not have put it better myself bud . Don't worry i've picked out the leathers etc. I'll be lit up like a lantern. as for the headlight...on 24/7 full beam . People can moan but i'll still be alive . Bourkey
  15. For a start it is a sticker which wont have the same reflective properties as a UK standard numberplate. It is also too small which is asking for trouble. Even bikers have problems with small plates so a car with them isn't going to be any better. And finally im guessing it doesn't have the BS approval code and postcode of where it was made, this makes it illegal which will make it fail it's MOT unless the MOT place is a bit more easy on it. Up to you bud but personally i'd stick to standard size text etc regardless of how it looks. Bourkey
  16. @ Rubix - Don't worry i completely understand what you are saying. i've had all the lectures and "yo better not fucking do that" etc. I know people with bikes who have had scrapes, again all not their fault so i know what im getting myself into. I believe i have grown up a lot in the past year where motoring is concerned so i wont be just a daft kid on a bike. I have been told the same thing by other bikers. Respect the power you have at the twist of your wrist as one wrong move can all go wrong. I'll have the odd laugh like i said but it will be far from before. Im also doing much more train
  17. Unfortunately the Japanese car scene is regularly targeted. The parts on the performance cars like Evos, Imprezas, Starlets, Supras, S bodies...etc etc etc (I could go on forever), are all worth a large amount of money. Just think how much people spend on there cars. It is like a huge cash machine for a thief. Steal it, strip it, sell all the parts, weight the shell in, easy. Thousands of pounds for a week or two worth of work. All the alarms in the world wont stop someone who really wants your car too. Bourkey
  18. @ Bluebear - Exactly what i was thinking. The things that doctor can do to fix you has come on massively. My arm would have surely been amputated but what the doctors don't warn you of is the mental side of an accident. It affects you for much longer than any injury especially if you aren't a strong minded person. I was doing some research into it after i found out that depression was common from serious accidents, there have been people who have got so depressed they have taken their own lives. I do appreciate everything my doctors have done for me massively and i owe my life to them but i
  19. @ Bluebear - I really see your point Nick but the majority of people would keep their foot down as you just think about getting past. I would brake and you might but a great deal wouldn't. I understand exactly what situation Paul was in. @ PaulStarletSR - Yeah accident doesn't sound too different. Luckily im still oblivious to what happened as my memory of the night and 3-4 days after still has not come back. I see what you mean mentally as well. You really feel down after. I was off for 3 and a half months on my own at home. You have too much time with your thoughts. What you could have done
  20. Blemishes no matter how small knock loads off. The more untidy it looks the less you will pay. Auto's are also a massive amount less as not a lot buy them. Price up the conversion to a manual, add it on top of your car and hey presto you have a rough price of a manual Glanza. Bourkey
  21. It was turbo with and estimated power of 170-180bhp so it wasn't a slow car at all. The speed wasn't the main issue anyway. The main problem was the rear axle going light AFTER over taking . Bourkey
  22. ^^^^Very true. These little cars held their value for a very long time but in the past year or two the value has plummeted. Sorry bud it is just the way it is with cars these days. If you are lucky you may get £3000 but don't get your hopes up. £2000-£2500 is roughly GT price now and Glanzas are around £3000-£3500. Bourkey
  23. Cheers bud. Took a while but got there in the end :harhar:. Roids . Imagine me looking like a sted head . Bourkey
