andy.i Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 £500?!get a 2nd hand ct9, and fit it yourselfsave you about £350 Quote
Ryan Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 if you dont want to spend a big amount of money i would do the above. But a hybrid would prob be your best option if your looking more power. an if you have a stock turbo it will be a ct9 Quote

paul w Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 I'm fairly sure these are the same unit, compare the part numbershttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOYOTA-LUCIDA-ESTIMA...A1%7C240%3A1318http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22570 Quote
iamlegend Posted March 7, 2009 Author Posted March 7, 2009 Straight swap mate, I ran one on my auto GT for a while. Made a nice difference in power delivery.Brand new they are circa £900 from Toyota. Given what you could buy for that it doesn't really appeal.well i might have 1 its a ct9B thats good then its just a straight swap.as for the new 1, yee u were right 900 i rang up toyota and asked, no way would pay that thow ill have to see what garage says aswell about it been the turbo or the head, its really hurting my head lol becouse heard lots of different things about this case. when i did a oil change as well the oil looked browny/blacky so was no sign of water in there as it wasnt a whitey colour. iamlegend Posted March 9, 2009 Author Posted March 9, 2009 its defo the turbo gone in my car, so have bought a new 1 ct9b is it easy to fit? Quote
paul w Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Piece of piss if you have a socket and spanner set, some coolant, new gaskets and a bit of patience as the nuts at the back of the turbo are a bastard to get at!! There is a guide somewhere i believe.Basicly rad drain the rad, remove top mount/up pipe for front mount, remove rad, remove cat/decat+heat shields if you have em then all thats left is the turbo so oil and coolant lines off and turbo-mani nuts. Refit is just reverse of above. Will take a few hours first time as nuts will be solidly seized in place normally. Penetrating fluid the night before will help as will a breaker bar. Quote
