hi guys!

kev here - finally glad to have found what seems to be the right forum!!

I'm not a starlet owner - plenty of other cars though, J-tin includes a prairie daily driver / parts hauler, and a laurel (yeah, both nissans I know!) - I'm here on behalf of a starlet owning mate

reason I've got on here is I have a bit of a starlet shaped problem, which I will go and post in the relevant tech section in a bit - hopefully I'll be able to snap some pics of the starlet soon (EP80) - which might be a fair bit different to what you guys are used to regarding mods!

cheers! - kev

hmmmm - found the wiki, but unless I'm being super-dense, I can't find the right link for a tech section I can post in??

it's a pretty weird Q anyway, so I'll pop it on here for now, if someone can link me to the right secton I'll move it over?

what has happened is - my mate brought his EP80 1 ltr starlet over to my barn for some spring chopping lowering action, and fitment of some new wheels - whilst under it I noticed that the osf caliper bolts were pretty chewed up, so I ordered new ones from toyota - unfortunately when these were being fitted (not by me!) the bottom one sheared off in the caliper carrier!!

My mate who works in the local scrappy came up, and tried to get the stub out, but couldn't, so tried to drill it out and re-tap, this worked, but the tap went in slightly off, so the caliper bolts up, but it's not quite 'right'

He has in work the remains of an EP82 starlet, but the hubs on this have bolt on caliper carriers, the EP80 carriers are cast one piece as part of the hub - so will the ep82 hubs / discs & calipers swap onto the ep80 - or will the driveshafts be wrong??

as another option, in the 'other' local breakers there are two EP90 shaped starlets - one is a S reg starlet 'solida' - the other is an R reg starlet GT (both with 'bolt on' caliper carriers) - will either of the front hubs from these swap onto the EP80??

this is fast turning into a nightmare, and we're trying to get the car back on the road for this weekend's retro-rides show, so if ANYONE can help it'd be MUCH Appreciated!

thanks - and apologies if I've put this in the wrong section - kev
