reuben
Right guys, looking to import a starlet gt and i have been looking on tradecarview.com. Seems very cheap so can somone tell me what the catches are?cheers Reub
Glanza_cl
do alot more reasearch is my advice.you pay for the car in equivalent sterling to yen. you pay import charges and shipping fee's along with insurance.then when it lands you have to get it registered and a vosa check, MOT etc iirc.it takes a long time and in the current climate you will be able to pick up a gt in the uk dirtcheep anyway. ecksjay
much MUCH cheaper to pick one up in the uk. decent gt's are less than £2k now, be much cheaper and less hassle to buy one here
reuben
cheers guy's. it just ive found one that has 30,000 miles and is in silver with all the optional extras for £1300, plus shipping over £450 n then the duty and tax and admin fees, so i could be the first owner of it in britain for just over £2,000.. n the thing i like about these cars for import is that they havent been messed about and are pretty much standard..reuben
ecksjay
there's no way to know if its been messed about with, as you cant look at it. if you get one here you can check it over, make sure it's pukka, alot will probably have been sorted by previous owner (usual things like clutch, bushes etc).
