JAG
I've only noticed this over the last few weeks but I always drive round on low boost nice and easy until my engine temp sits dead on half way up the temperature gaugeHowever recently the engine is taking ages to warm up (which im guessing is the cold weather) Then when it does reach that point half way in the middle where it sits happy and i flip it into high boost, put my foot down and start using the turbo The temperature gauge seems to drop down to 1/4 of the way up as oppose to stay sitting dead in the middle at optimum temperature as it has all the time beforeThen it slowly works its way back up from 1/4 the way up to 1/2 way up?The engine light doesn't come on or anything but I thought i better look into it just to be on the safe sideI'm not sure wether its just the cold as I've never driven it when its been particually cold as i got it when the warm weather was starting in April and I was thinking that if i drive it on low and then switch into high and put my foot down it might suck in more cold air and possibly lower the temperature down?I read about other people with similar problems n the problem being temp sensors and earthing wire connections and stuff but noone elses case matches mine really So anybody got any idea what it is?I'm gna take it for a quick spin now and see if it does it and I also read something about trying out the heaters and see if it blows out cold air so I'll try that toAny help would be wikid Thanks in advance:harhar:

Glanza_cl
could be a sticky thermostat, so that would be a good thing to change plus they dont cost much. then look into the engine temp sensor as again they dont cost to much and it's all temp related.when was the coolant last changed and also the oil... how old is that? my guess could be a sticky thermostat which makes you think it's upto temp but when giving it some it releases shows the proper temp. does the temp go back up when you boost it? also you mention it sits dead half way... i was allways under the impression it should sit just under the half way mark, again leading me to belive it the thermostat playing up :harhar:

JAG
Cheers for the comments lads :harhar:After just taken it for a little run to picking my sister upI let it warm up (took a while with the cold etc) but when it did warm up i tried the blowers (as in air blowers inside the car) and their pumping out hot air fineThen gave it a bit of a boost home Not over 40 due to no higher speed limited roads on the way home and me being a good boy But gave it a few little blaps up to the speed limit and it seems fineIts tended to be at motorway and A-road speeds when I've realised its dropping and none of that involved in my little trek home Also the needle does sit ever so slightly under half way in actual fact but I've never really paid it much attension before now I havn't actually changed any of the fluids in it other than top the washers up to be honest So I'll go get some new coolant and think I'll give it an oil and filter as its probably time for it by now as its done 6000km since I've had it and god knows when Japman last changed any of it?Then I'll keep an eye on it tonight when i head out for the Medstone meet and watch it on the trek to Bluewater and back to Thanks again for your imput EDIT:Cheers Blitz mate thats what I wanted to hear to be honestSo I'll attack that to N course Im still coming to Medstone
