Yup.

The Ibiza's the 3 door, Cupra is 156bhp, Cupra R is 180bhp..

Leon's the 5 door, 1.8 20v non-turbo is 123-fucking-bhp.... Cupra/FR is 180bhp, Cupra R is 225bhp.

Same basic engine as used in the Golf, Bora, Passat, Polo, A3, S3, A4, Skodas etc.... just different turbo's etc..

ibiza cupra r - stock

starlet - stock

ibiza wins

ibiza cupra - stock

starlet - stock

starlet wins.

tune them, balls out with the only restriction being the engine.

ibiza wins.

real world tuning with similar budgets... starlet wins hands down.

by a country mile.

similar budgets? starlet stuf is stupid exspensive..

ibiza stuff is cheap. a maps only £250 god sake!

you cant get 60bhp on a starlet for £250 lol.

youd spend an arm and a leg to match the power of the ibiza.

you dont need the match the power of the ibiza to beat one, do you?

the map is one area of the vag wins financially, and thats only because toyota wont let us remap the stock ecu.

once you buy a mappable ecu for your gt, then your mapping costs will be the same/less.

also worth mentioning incase someone reads this thread and think hmm stock 1.8t = 300/350/400bhp,

its not that simple, i think there are 4 different 1.8t engine codes, one of the four has alot of power potential.

all the engines are pretty much the same the engine codes dont matter that much

pretty much the same bar the forged pistons?. my friend/guy i know has the one,his runs 360/70hp ish.

fairly tight between him and me.
