Sparky Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Bucked one of my Final Speeds just wondering if any alloy wheel refurb place would be able to repair this??Basically its made a bulge in the centre of the rim and ever so slightly spilt the inside edge, heres some pics. Quote
riko666 Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 tricky, will depend if the metal's gone beyond its yield, that's quite a bit of displacement and pushing it back could fatigue the metal too much - my Watanabes had a slight squared off edge on the lip and the company couldn't straighten it as they feared it would've fatigued the metal. I'd bring it to some wheel refurbishing or engineering place, maybe someone who specialises in accident damage? Quote
Sparky Posted November 16, 2009 Author Posted November 16, 2009 Yea that was the next step to take it to a decent alloy wheel specialist but its finding one localish Quote
Liam_D Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 To be honest mate, i think that might be repairable. Heres hoping dude. Quote

GTnomez Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 thats hardly a scratch! That should be so easy!I have a mate who refurbs alloys, it would cost only about 20 quid to get that out! Quote

Id say if its done very slowly in small increments with a bit of heat itl be ok. But ive never done it before..Thats the benefit of having high quality forged wheels i.e. Rays. if they were bent they could be bent back.. with in reason. I read in banzai a guy with a soarer bought some rays that were buggered and he had them straightened out.Mitch Quote

ryan33hks Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Went to that place chersire posted and they cant fix it They told me another place to try so going there tomorrow. On a good note they will respray mine £25 a wheel, so which this space (or my build thread) after xmas If you still need this done, take it to Renowheel in Bridgend, it's on brackla industrial estate. They reapired a buckle and a big crack much worse that that for me on an alloy. 30 quid i think it was:) Could be miles away from you mind Quote
