Dan Evans
if it looks fine you can do it without changing the pump, although while the belt is off, you might as well do it mate, there not expensive so if you do it as well you wont have to do it later on when the belt is back on. Carl.
ok will do. thanks lads
The_Notorious_C_A_T
Change it while everything it out mate, only have to take things apart once then.I did a guide on how to change the timing belt. Easy enough bud. Just a bit fiddly.Oh things to know, one bolt on the engine mount is hidden, one bolt of the water pump housing is behind the engine mount and getting the crank pulley off without damaging it is also a bit awkward. Carl.
would i need to change any other belts with the water pump then... like the alternator belt?
The_Notorious_C_A_T
alternator belt runs the water pump. So it's timing belt, alternator/water pump and power steering belt.Make sure you do the tensioner pulley and all that stuff as well.
Dan Evans
power steering belt wont need changing aslong as its not fraid etc, as it doesnt run off the water pump
