Paseos & Cynoses In Motorsport

I will later elaborate this post, but just a rudimentary introduction - whilst Toyota, at the time of release of the Paseo had more prominent and popular cars with which to enter into a multitude of Motorsport fields (Celica, Supra etc), the Paseo, whilst usually entertained at Grassroots level motorsports, actually enjoyed even some big successes in major events.

Primarily as can be seen below, the EL44 Paseos picked up numerous victories in the GT3 & GT4 classes in the SCCA championship in America - now, the car are far from stock, some being based on a tubular spaceframe chassis, and using either a 3S-GTE or 4A-GE powerplant, they are regardless a Paseo! I will need to dredge up specifics. There was also a "Paseo" dragster that had held claim to fastest "something" or other, think it was rotary powered or it may have had a 3S-GTE as well. Quite a few were entered in rallies as well - barring the pictured car here, there was a famous one in Canada campaigned by an ex-forum user (username was Wedge on the American forums), who I believe scored some class victories. The EL54 is far less prominent in any meaningful Motorsport circles however. Saying that though, there WAS an EL54 in "The Fast & Furious"
