Meston
The other day I was fitting my new manifold to my V and when I had finished I forgot to tighten up the oil feed/return pipe on the turbo. On a quick test drive I noticed oil pissing everywhere. Tightened up the pipe and refilled with oil. Now I'm getting a really loud whistling noise whenever the turbo starts working. Sanchez
Maybe? maybe just a boost leak? you use new gaskets when fitting mani?

elkinz
u 2 got boost gages? need second gear stick ya foot down if the boost goes flat or dies down u got a leak some where haha and when putting new turbos on some are louder than overs check waist gate to nd if u have a cotton air filter they tend to make whistles after more power would go for steel induction for turbo cars as they take more air in soz bout my spelling
Meston
Nah it's not a boost leak I think. I'm gonna take my car out for a quick spin to see how it is.

Got it's MOT/NCT due at the end of this month and I know it's gonna fail just saving up for however much it's going to cost.
Asad
Mabe the lack of oil at the time caused bearing wear? how low was the oil? how long was it driven for??
LeeG
u mite not have your air filter pipe or efi pipe on the turbo right, which would be the turbo spoolin up given off the sound.
ForresGlanza
Does it sound a bit like a supercharger? I had a boost leak a couple of days ago and thats what it sounded like

Nick@TD.co.uk
sounds most likely a damaged turbo mate, i see it alot with the CT9 turbos when they start to wear, a good rebuild will cost around 200+ Vat mate if you need anything give us a shout.Kind Regards,Nick JonesTuning Developments LTDWorkshop Landline - 01925 822266TuningDevelopments@Hotmail.comwww.TuningDevelopments.co.uk
